| Cheap wireless winch combo too good to be true?
Found a bunch of different wireless winch combos like this https://www.newfrog.com/product/1-se...-redcat-229190 for under $40. Has anyone tried these? Just trying to get a winch on my rig without breaking off an arm to do it. any knowledge is much appreciated

I have the same running off a small 2s. I had to get creative with mounting as the screws to the plate are tiny. Just about manages to pull a 5lb rig... Cheap enough to risk? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk |

I don't think I'm going to risk it. My rig is just under 9lbs and once I put the winch and controller on it. It will be 9 lbs. Guess I'll keep saving my pennies. Maybe a good candidate for the Dingo later on down the road. It's just over 5lbs. Thanks for the input Sent from my SM-S975L using Tapatalk |

For $5 you can buy a metal gear 360°servo or modify a reguler servo the wireless controler should run the servo winch too you can but just the winch controler if you dont have a 3 channel radio but for $32 on ebay you can pick up a gt3c controler and with very little work goes up to 8 channels and works with like 100 differant rigs and can be programed for each rig if you realy like the look of the winch hanging off the front of your rig get a plastic winch and drill a hole for the line to come out my towerpro $4 servo would dead lift my 10 lb rig with out flinching on my 20lb rig it struggles to lift it straight up but hasent burned out yet lol

I some times mount my winch servo in the rear were there is usaly more room and run my winch line through some tubing like break line or bicycle cable sheathing or something

That controller and FOB are not unique to RC. If you look you will find pleanty for $5.00-$10.00. Look for wireless DC motor controllers. Many of there are used for garage door openers and can handle plenty of AMPs. | |
