The ifs bomber i think has a higher cg than the yeti. But yet i think an ifs wraith might have a lower cg than a ifs bomber but higher than a yeti. If you want a "faster" ifs "crawler" some people really enjoy the losi rock rey. Go check out white trash's post "i dont fawk around" in the bomber section i believe. I think he has got the solid axle bomber down to almost a science.. But its got a lot of money dumped in it.

Im not sure how the u4 community is doing, but if its not that big, i wouldnt expect another ifs rig to come out for awhile.

I was navel-gazing some during my lunch-break today, and giving the SMT-10 discontinuation some more thought - frankly, if someone wanted to build a better-performing SMT-10, they could always take a BPC Bomber steel chassis rail kit or the similar Xtreme Racing G10 or carbon-fiber Bomber chassis and create a real beast with either a Wraith or Bomber skid and a set of AR60 axles.

Pick the monster truck body of your choice!

Example of Xtreme Racing chassis with monster truck wheels and tires:

Is there a monster truck that will drive on water?

In the 80's with brushed motors and NiMH batteries it may have been a silly question. Not now.

Haha. Well, in all honesty, I could float in the 80's too.

Not me, but you get the point.

Any word on availability of those Vaterra Ascender RULR parts yet?

Also any possibility of buying the Suburban grille with light buckets as a standalone part for my K10 Ascender? Would be awesome if the K10 clear cab bodies were updated to include the new grille with light buckets as well.

VTR234032 Uper Link Risers appear to be in our warehouse in California but they have not been released yet. I'll look into it. * UPDATE: They are in stock and can be ordered.

I like the idea of the grille set being sold separately BUT we wouldn't sell enough to justify stocking them in our warehouse. It's one of those things the warehouse managers look at....if it cost more to handle the product and store it than we are selling, then we can't keep it.

Any chance it can be included with the clear K10 cab then? Or is the only way to get a hold of them to buy the suburban body or the C10 body?

You know that people speculate all the time about a myriad of different things in life. When companies are secretive and/or quiet that speculation seems to get worse. It's even worse when facts lead you to believe the worst. And with the advent of the internet, speculation often runs rampant even without facts.

Take the Ascender as an example. The Blazer went away, then the Bronco went away, the prices have been reduced on the other versions that are still available, and some replacement parts on the Horizon website are listed as "This item is no longer available." The facts don't look good for the Ascender and speculation leads me to believe the Ascender, except maybe the Suburban, is headed towards death.

I've long speculated that the Ascender would be watered down to an Axial level meaning a massive amount of plastic parts that would need to be replaced with upgrades. The Suburban seems like a result of this watering down.

Is it speculation? Yes. Am I wrong? To be determined.

Also, take Axial as an example. For a long time (months or maybe even a year) people speculated the end was near for Axial. They assumed the worst because that's where the facts pointed. That speculation wasn't wrong. Axial would be dead had Horizon, or some other company, not saved them.

Speculation is a funny thing and it's often wrong, but not always.

Gotta love the "I can't tell you anything, but everything is awesome" comments, lol...

Want to nip speculation and rumors in the bud? Feed us some facts. If not, enjoy the wild guesses show, lol

I understand that Rich can't tell us more than he's allowed or else he'd lose his job. He's obviously going to product his employment as any person would. Bean counters enforce silence...

I get it too, but with a lack of information, people always try and fill in the blanks. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but to me Rich's comments kind of came off like we were all being ridiculous...

Vaterra axles suck, axial rigs are pretty terrible but their axle designs are easily the best available in their class.

I don't care what happens, I use 95% aftermarket parts anyway.

There are many well thought out comments posted here, Jato being one of them but I'm going to admit many of the ideas about what is happening or going to happen are ridiculous.

I still enjoy coming to this site to help out when possible and even answer on posts like these which are a no win deal for me. Either it's appreciated for what i can provide or it's a "prove it" or a bash comment...again all parts of answering on forums.

I guess the bottom line is that this speculation is just what it is, speculation....and probably what makes it fun for people to read. Having passion for your/our segment of the hobby and wanting to protect it or question it is what makes it fun.

I'll provide what i can when i can.

Rich

When people are left in the dark all they can do is speculate. Just saying. Not a dig at you but at corporate mentality.
