While I agree and fully support the need for an East Coast event, Axialfest is held right in Axial's backyard, which is kinda the point since it is their event celebrating their brand. If they did two a year, which would be awesome, it should definitely be east. Still, being an Axial event and only allowing Axial vehicles won't please everyone, but there are other events that let everyone play.

I won't drive 2 hours to play on rock that sucks so why would I cross the country for it?

Worlds was just held in OZ and everyone, locals included said the rock was slick with no traction. That has zero appeal to me. I'm spoiled with great local terrain and mostly cooperative weather. When it rains I stay inside.

I have a buddy that lives in New Jersey that flys put this way for big comps. He is actually looking to move this way for lots of reasons including the weather and killer terrain.

I don’t think they’re used to damp, moss covered rocks, wet roots and mud!

We're coming up your way in spring - scoping out Rogue River Valley area for a retirement destination.

Hope you would have time for us to get together, our son and his family live in the Medford area. Keep us posted!

I had a lifetime full of that crap when we lived in the Seattle area.
They have 270 days of cloudy and rain - we have 270 days of sunshine.

I hear ya. But, you make the best of where you’re at. I’ve had the opportunity to use my rigs in a number of areas around the country, including out West and South West. I actually enjoy the challenge of varied terrain. As long as i’m driving one of my rigs, i’m having fun, regardless of the zip code.

I was just through your neighborhood last week. I got lucky and the mountain was cooperative all week so no iron required.

The PNW really is 2 completely different climates. I'm from the desert but I enjoy talking to people that have never been here so they assume I get constant precipitation. Uhh nope.

I just bundle up and bring a flask. The gloves can impede feel at the Tx though.

I was referring more to our S-CA friends regarding damp, moss covered rocks, wet roots and mud Ernie. I’ve actually mountain biked up in your neck of the woods. Beautiful scenery and terrain.

My wife crocheted a mitten that my hands & radio fit inside of. I have no problem playing in the snow or cold but the comp rigs stay at home when its wet. The gaylers are waterproof so snow is a hoot

I think your wife could probably sell a bunch of those mittens here on the forums! I’ve got a thinner set of mechwear gloves I use to fit in the trigger and provide some level of feedback. But, they’re not exactly warm!

I thought about that. She crochets all the time but that's a slow road to make a mitten. Might have her do one that is sewn so it's more durable and quicker to produce.

There are many reasons to avoid the left coast. I'm surprised you stay in that liberal nest. Although they are trying to take over the East Coast as well...

That is such an incorrect stereo type. When you get away from the major cities you run into normal people, be it republican or democrat.

No different then here in PA.

yep. they way I look at the world is through the roads and other car gurus that travel it. some might thinks its a small community... but they are just more normal people to me. id say they got it made as far as cars/ roads/ trails/ rigs on the west side of Wisconsin..

for those who do regularly attend axialfest, I do hope they at least get a spot to run it this year.
