What RC projects are you all hoping to complete this year?

I’m down to just a trx4 hilux and a couple of traxxas street bashers so I’m planning a few new projects for this year.

First two I’m going to focus on are a toyzuki v2 truggy and a class 1 trx4 sport. Hoping to have them ready for PLBTF.

After that I’ve been getting more and more keen on the mst cfx builds I’ve seen on here. It seems like a fun build that won’t break the bank after I get the first two done.

Somewhat crawler related...I'll be converting my modded RTR Bomber to a 4ws monster truck with a BP Customs or Xtra Speed twin rail chassis conversion. That won't be until after I finish the custom build 4.75"tire Bomber-based scale crawler, though.

I’m waiting for these guys in May.


In the meantime (for the year) I’m thinking of slowly working on an Ultra 4 styled Defender. Something inspired by this:


It will be a very slow build.

Congrats on the twins!!!!! Cherish every moment brother, they grow up fast! Our youngest just turned 5 on the 3rd smh.

Im lookin at a few builds, i hope lol. Wanna build a truck for pullin a trailer to haul my crawlers. Ive got a scx10.2, gettin a trx4 bronco at tax time. Always enjoy workin on my trucks

I've already got a bunch of projects lined up. Upgrade my Barrage, do a comparison between my Yeti and a cheaper alternative, put electronics into a T5M slider that I picked up, retro a T5M trans into a T2, and finish a couple RC10Ts that I've had apart for ages.

Tweak and upgrade the new Defender TRX-4, paint body and assemble rear cage to pretty-up the Ascender, build Bomber #2 based on Xtreme Racing carbon fiber chassis rails with special secret Lexan body, and upgrade Bomber #1 with aluminum SSD Diamond axles & MIP shafts & Hot Racing tranny & HH PP 4100kv 540-L "R" type motor. We will see how much I actually get done, as I found the perfect crawl spot super close to my work! Might drive more, build less... at least there's next to no more parts to be bought!

bully 2 MOA comp rig. .
So specs will be
- rc4wd bully 2 kit
- traxxas big bore shocks, losi mini t springs, flux fab end caps with traxxas rod end mod, dlux fab spring holder. 35wt oil front , 50wt oi rear( to start with, may change to setup right)
- HB rover 2.2 comp crawler tires on bully 2 carbon wheels with anodized orange beadlock bolts
- custom cut driver/interior out of a $20 Kmart rock crawler I got
- Losi night crawler Shell custom cut to fit the bully 2 carbonfibre chassis/roll cage and so the shocks can cycle cleanly.
It will be painted in the Ivan Stewart trophy truck graphics colour's (all painted, no stickers)
- savox monster torque servo, intergy aluminum servo arm
- Holmes hobbies crawlmaster 16t motors
- Holmes hobbies torquemaster br mini dual ESC, And BEC for servo
- sanwa/airtronics M12S-rs 4 channel controller and receiver

I think that's it. Built it for free crawling mostly. Maybe do a comp once a month if our local club MOA crawler scene picks up. Everyone's into class 1 and class 2 scale rigs but they just don't do it for me. I'd like to build a class 3 scale rig because they at least can be built like a full scale rock crawler not just a street rig.

Iv gotta find out how to post pictures on this site then I can put up pics of my project as it comes along.

I've got more projects than compton.


New axles under the bomber.

New body, likely axles and a bunch of other stuff to the Toyzuki.

New chassis and probably axles for honcheato.

Swap my trx4 to brushless and do up a body for it. Either an early hardtop bronco, raptor or C10. It needs bumpers too so they will come after the body.

My sporty el pinko needs a new body and I need to build new tires for it.

Greengo my pro needs new tires, it is rock solid otherwise.

Exo needs new diff fluid so I'll install a prototype VP motor mount at that time.

I'm going to be playing musical esc/motor combos too. Brxl and brood motor from my el pinko and put it in honcheato. Install a waterproof br-mini and Holmes puller 400 in el pinko.

Toyzuki needs the mamba x & 2850 from honcheato.


I have a pile of other work lined up for other people already too. 2 full sporty builds, finish building an Emoryworx "screaming blue" 4 wheel steer I've been working on when I get bored or I'm waiting on parts for another project.

I never did one here. Now that I think of it I may do a dual thread documenting el pinko and el pinko II. I have all the parts to build a completely updated version of my tried & true battle wagon.

My thread called "the rental rebuild" is all but identical other then running an ar60 front/ar44 rear and most of the parts being pink.

I’ll be starting a VS4-10 ASAP, most likely Hobby Wing brushless and Protek servo. I’ll be building a aluminum chassis for it. Also be building a aluminum truggy chassis using a Hilux cab for my wife’s Deadbolt. A new aluminum chassis for my SCX10.2 KIT. Hope to have things completed in the next couple months or so.

Full metal cage for the Losi Baja Rey (Done) and scale her out to look as close to 1:1 as possible with the Robby Gordon RPM truck being my inspiration. Also, continue to tweak and upgrade the new TRX-4 Sport. I'm sure there will be others as well!

My current project is the GCM J2 Skeleton with the China Jk 2 door hard body. It's been going slow so far, but hoping to get going on it now that the holidays are over. I am going to try to get enough pics so I can make some kind of build thread.
