Finally got mine off the slow boat. Paid $23 to aliexpress. So far I'm happy with it. The start speed is not as good as with a castle or holmes hobbies esc but it's not bad. Same as with the 1080. But for the price and the fact it can run 4s I will be getting more.

Excellent! It’s pretty cool, right? I’m sure there’s mo-better stuff out there, but it’s almost inconceivable that you get this kind of versatility for $23, and programmable like a 1080? Lol, stoked you wanted to try it out and I wanna hear what you do with programming. I like ideas and most of mine are still falling off the learning curve. Cheers.

There are 2 downsides to the 880 over the 1080 IMO and neither of them are that bad.
1) It's a larger Heavier ESC, Unless you're going for a super lightweight rig this probably doesn't matter at all.
2) The Initial start up speed. Now I am not 100% certain that this is different then the 1080, but i think it is. I have a crawlmaster pro 550 running on 4s. With freewheeling disabled I can get the motor to buzz and then slowly turn, once I enable freewheeling for the active drag brake (necessary for a crawler IMO) the initial start speed jumps to like 60rpm (guessing). So you can not crawl as slow before the esc registers no input. It's basically cutting off the bottom end of the throttle that doesn't have enough power for most motors to move the vehicle effectively, but with a nice $80 motor this is useable throttle being trimmed off. In the outdoors on the rocks I might not notice it. But in my house I do.

In the end it's just what's more important, 4s power or initial startup speed. If you don't use freewheeling for downhill control then the 880 is better and cheaper but no included programmer (same as the 1080 programmer, so you probably already have one any ways.)
If you incorrectly believe there is no need for 4s power in a crawler then the 1080 is best for crawling.
