Trx4 Axles with Axial Transmission. Advice for Class 2 Comp Build Please. I'm looking in to building up a really capable Class 2 Hilux. My requirements are: Overdrive. (More than Hot Racing ar44 provide) Low C of G I've considered something like a gspeed or Crawl Space chassis with Axial transmission but it's just how to get the overdrive. So I then thought about a pair of trx4 axles with over/underdrive. Could I then run a 540 instead of a 550? Any more options would be great"thumbsup" Being in the UK, I'm trying to stick to readily available parts rather than bespoke transmissions etc... |
Re: Trx4 Axles with Axial Transmission. Advice for Class 2 Comp Build Please. The trx4 axials will raise the CofG unless you buy specialized chassis with higher arches for the axles like the toyzuki v3. Personally I think the benefits of overdrive are less important then the CofG you you would lose. Rc4wd makes some transfer cases that can add overdrive from what I hear. I think it's from swapping the deiveline input to the front output on transfer cases with reduction. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |
Re: Trx4 Axles with Axial Transmission. Advice for Class 2 Comp Build Please. Hi Neilus I'm doing the same as you just for fun no comps and I too live in the UK. I've gone with a sucker punch chassis ( not arrived yet) axial Trans with dig, an ar60 front axle and ar44 rear axle to get od / ud Hoping to use a tekin fxr with bigger cap to run a Holmes 550 27t trailmaster. If you see anything wrong please say something I would benefit from another opinion Good luck with your build Cheers Heavydt [emoji3] Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk |
Re: Trx4 Axles with Axial Transmission. Advice for Class 2 Comp Build Please. Hi Mr. D. Just had a look at that chassis, it looks nice. I'm after more of a scale chassis, but i think I've decided to just use the TRX4 for now, and see how that goes. If it still doesn't perform as i want, then i'll probably go for a Crawl Space Game Changer Chassis. We'll see at the G6 "thumbsup" |
