What i meant was the 2 cycle selection of engines that came from detroit diesel under GM and penske ownership. (92 series was still being mfd under penske for some short time)

Im not really happy as a ford guy as of late... They have been making weird decisions (outside of mustangs and focus's) since 2012.

Im close to leasing a new silverado....

And to whom that brought up the motor sitting to far back for scale opening hood bodies.. Yes. Its too far back. But for a good reason. Science.

Edit: the motor cover should be seperate, but its a good marketing piece.

Well done SSD.

Here, I'll jinx it. I haven't seen the "coupon codes not allowed" for this kit...

RPP's 10% off makes it $405, one of their sporadic 15% off codes would make it $382. It's suddenly on-par with average market pricing (but a lot nicer layout/quality/materials/cosmetics/etc) isn't it?

I really like this setup, but alas, I already had my heart set on building another MOA. I doubt I'll buy both... but I may reconsider.

Whoa! I feel so fortunate that I found this hobby when I did and this is a viable option for my first build!

Very nice chassis.
The only thing I don't like so much is the fake engine. A version without would be my choice. But that is nagging on a very high level

The Letter 'J' for Jinx then. I do look the like of this chassis, but will have to wait a while, spent a lot this year on rc and although I have some parts and stuff to sell it's not enugh. Maybe a winter project.

I see only one negative thing: the battery holder is rather backwards, couldn't it be placed more in front of the chassis, above the transmission ?

Then it would be far too high. This chassis is low CoG setup with the motor forward and low. So the battery has to go further back. It is close to the middle as I could get whilst leaving enough room to access the rear driveshaft. Putting the battery tray over the tcase would block the rear driveshaft access. However if that's what people want then I'm sure somebody will come up with something.

If using a small battery you can put on the sides maybe. There is plenty of unused space there.

Why is the motor so far back?

The guy building this thinks the motor placement is perfect.

This is a performance decision really. If the motor is forward and high then the center of gravity is higher. So it may look a little better under the front of the hood but at performance cost. I'm sure everyone would complain if the motor was high also.

In the current position, on most bodies the motor is in front of and below the windshield not too far from the position in a real truck really. The problem is with these tiny trucks the scale of each component is not the same. So engine is 1/10, chassis is narrow, bodies are 1/9 etc...

So it can never be perfect.

Does the engine fit brushless motors easily?

So you turned the anti-Axial corner as well?

Can you translate that to English? I think you are saying you like the motor more than me, but in that case there are words missing.

RPP wouldn't let me use a coupon.

Nope, they still are the big dogs, lots of pups coming though.
I built the raw kit with SSD axles and Dravtech shocks, I would of done this in a second as I am a SSD fanboy

Leaves some room for some scale pieces too, like a radiator, pulleys, battery, reservoirs, etc.

I wasn’t planning on a body with an opening hood but may need to look into one with this in mind.

Performance decision as it should be IMO. This is a scale truck, but with performance. I think it looks to be the best of both worlds.

Well Axial's latest release is a pup not a big dog - 1/24th Deadbolt!

Yep, I'm also an SSD fanboy.

Yes I will release a water pump and pulley set later. In progress now...
