I like this trans/transfer case combo. Much more scale having the front driveshaft off set from the rear. Nice work! Will this trans accept the rc4wd V8?

It gets better every time I see a new picture! Looking forward to it more than any other release at this point. Scale is cool, but it's getting stale. This looks to be some new life.

Universals get more angle and are stronger than Cvds imo.

Could the new transmission be bolted to a SCX10.2 chassis without too much modifications?

No. This new transmission has better CoG so the front bearings in a different place. So it doesn't fit my old rc4wd V8 motor mount.

Wont be available separately for a while though.

Thanks, that's great news. And good job by the way, this is a very promising platform!

Any plans to make your own scale engine for this?

I would hope so!

If not something will be on Shapeways and probably Thingiverse in no time.

There is a bunch of options from 3d printed but I would really like to see something nicer in either molded plastic or aluminum. Alot of the 3d printed one are rough except for the ones Mr Commad makes. Shapeways would be really expensive for something like this with not great finish for something as detailed as an engine.

I agree on all counts, but a mold for the scale engine would be a big investment and surely add cost. I hope SSD releases an add on engine though.

yeah I'd have no issues paying $180 for an aluminum engine like the rc4wd but maybe an LS? These 3d printed engines go for $100 on average.

From what Im seeing, it looks great!😮

I hadn’t even looked at a crawler in 6+ years. Saw the GEN8, that got me interested again. I have a RC4WD TF2 Marlin Crawler being delivered today, I’ve put a down payment on the Element Enduro, and now SSD drops this!🥴

Might be Christmas before I even look at picking up a UMG10 or TRX4 Sport Kit.

What a great time to get back into crawling!👍🏼

I check this topic like every hour to see if there is anything new.
Usually I don't get too hyped about things - but I'm for this one

I'm still brand new to the hobby and even I am super excited for this, my wife keeps asking me why I'm checking my phone so often!

I saw the mounting points are the nearly standard spacing for bumpers that use posts but will SCX10 bumpers that mount to the outside of the frame work? An eyeball measurement makes it look close.
