Track width Hi guys, I've been wondering about the track width between the front and rear axels. Is there a general rule about this? Do you like it the same or the rear narrower or wider? Advantages either way? How do you run yours? All knowledge welcome!!! thanks brian |
Re: Track width Depends on if you are talking about scalers, crawlers, competing or not competing... For comp crawlers like the XR10 and Berg, it is common to have a narrower back axle, it reduces the chances of hitting the back tires on a gate, and makes the dig work more effectively. For scale rigs, it is not that common, even for rigs that are designed to compete. If you have no intention of competing, then there is really no practicality to going with a narrower width in the back. |
Re: Track width I'm asking basicly for crawlers and scalers, some comps not really serious about the points just for fun!! I do understand about the gates took the yeti to a fun run last fall and man those gates were narrow for that wide thing but it did crawl very well! I'm planning a 1.9 build that's why I asked. still trying to everything out! Thanks brian |
