Beadlocks don't fit canyon trail I was told by a few people to buy some beadlocks for my TRX 4. So I bought some and I baked off my tires front the stock wheels. However I went to put on the new wheels and they won't fit on the tires. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be much appreciated Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |
Re: Beadlocks don't fit canyon trail Does the tire bead keep slipping out when you tighten the beadlock screws? Or is it a different issue? I had a ton of problems getting mine to fit into the Gmade SR02 wheels, but it ended up being the extra glue remnants that was the culprit. Once I peeled every last bit of glue off the tire it mounted up nice. Was a pain but they really do perform nice especially with the tread mod. If they don’t want to fit at all, is it possible you bought 2.2 wheels? The tires are 1.9 size. |

Re: Beadlocks don't fit canyon trail Like that. I'm just confused. It's my first set of thesehttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...03f2e72f09.jpg Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |
Re: Beadlocks don't fit canyon trail Yup, this can be very frustrating! This is common with the Canyon Trails as well as Proline tires due to the shape of the bead. It's formed on the outside but round on the inside. In order to get Canyon Trails and Proline's to fit my SSD wheels I had to buy different beadlock rings. I have used both of these and they work great. My preference so far is the Locked Up RC rings. Keep in mind though, that even with these new rings mounting the tires is a challenge and takes some patience. I used Windex on the inside and outside of the tire bead for some slippery help. LURC RC4WD Proline wheels fit the Canyon Trails very nicely without the need for different rings. IMO, their aluminum wheels are pretty expensive. They do make plastic wheels that I've used with the Canyon Trails which mount up perfectly. They have a cavity shaped ring which makes mounting non-Proline foams a bit of a challenge though. Don't give up, the Canyon Trail tires are well worth the time and effort it takes to get them mounted!! |

Re: Beadlocks don't fit canyon trail I put mine on 2.2's. Nothing I tried worked. They are just too big. |
Re: Beadlocks don't fit canyon trail 1 Attachment(s) Mine bolted up right away, no fuss. |

Re: Beadlocks don't fit canyon trail proline and traxxas canyon trail tires have a wedge style bead. if you look at any other tire besides aka evo and traxxas 2.8 (along with some other traxxas tires), you will find a more square bead. most beadlocks on the market today (besides traxxas 1.9's and proline) will have a squared channel. |

Re: Beadlocks don't fit canyon trail I've mounted them on HR stamped steel of two different varieties. :) |
Re: Beadlocks don't fit canyon trail i use a few dabs of super glue around the bead and let it dry then move on to the other side then bolt them together the glue only holds for a few runs on the aluminum wheels |
