Muchly appreciated, gents! I should have figured Nate had a trick up his sleeve for this platform as well...

I am still strongly considering this C2X, feel like taking a trip down hardbody lane....

I already know what front bumper I want, courtesy of noname0383!

Don't do it.

Like TheLetterJ said, your money would be better spent elsewhere.

The spirit(?) in which your advice is given is appreciated, but c'mon, man...

l know how you feel about... what is it that you call them, again?

About the body, what were they thinking when designing that horrible double arched junction between doors??!!
Unbelievably ugly and unrealistic
Looking at a 1:1 picture through the net before sending to production was maybe too much??

1983 Double Cab Hilux - note the door junctions on the 1:1 picture - did you actually check yourself before posting?

I didn't come up with the RC3WD moniker. That was created years before I ever bought my Turd Finder 2 used by many scorned RC4WD owners.

Never said you did, but you've used that name (and now include another derogatory nickname) for their products many times over. It's just proving the point that I just made. I'm not trying to argue - but to say that I hear you, but will make my decision as I see fit.

OK?

Thanks again.

I'm not arguing either.

Let me offer some clarification as to how it works. I am a new guy on trucks, but have a lot of experience as a former Team JR member back in the day when JR was the radio subsidiary of Horizon Hobbies, flying large scale R/C aircraft. The team would often get product placed at their doorstep for their use as a team member, and also a team discount on product. But JR often distributed radios to selected high visible persons in the segment as a product placement and or review opportunity if they so chose. There was never a "give me a good review and I will give you a radio". That's blatantly unethical, and in my experience never happened nor did I see it happen. Of course product loyalty comes to a personal choice and the distributors know who can help them even if just making the product visible. It is a business, not a mechanism for making a truck for your personal tastes, many things come into play including giving beginners a solid experience while giving the experts something to work on to make to suit their use. all this has to fit the working developmental and production budget. I'm not a fan of any particular truck, But i do understand the business, so I chuckle when all the naysayers on any new product go out of their way to bash a given product based on their brand loyalty or bias.

Business ethics as well as human ethics were better "back in the day." If you think people don't give good reviews in exchange for products or money you are clearly not up to date on modern reality.

WOW!!!
Thanks for sharing, I've never ever seen one from 83, double cab!
I had checked images from 1984 model, (which was available here in Europe, meanwhile 83 models are really rare, maybe imported), and with the 84 body style the door junction is completely different, single and straight.

The "Mojave" (which is what RC4WD calls their Toyota Hilux) was a limited edition (3,500 only) "luxury" trim US model Hilux released right at the end of the production year of the 3rd-generation truck halfway through 1983. Toyota released the 4th-generation truck before they stopped making the previous one, and actually sold them both side-by-side for a short time. Depending on what country they were sold in, the Hilux has had innumerable variations. You could even buy the Hilux as a Volkswagen Taro from '89-'97, final assembly was done in Hanover, Germany!
