Default DIY scratch build body - what material?

Greetings,

I have a quick question: I'm preparing to start my own scratch build hard body but have slight problem with material. I figured out that styrene is what I need but what kind to be exact?

Regular PS, ABS, HIPS?

I ask because I am searching for cheap supply and I have problems with that. I live in Europe so no Home Depot for me, my LHS either don't have what I'm looking for o rthe prices are too much for too little material. So I'm looking after styrene manufacturers (which are plenty) but they offer far too wide variety.

So my question is - what kind of styrene I should look after

What i do is go to the local dump and find refrigerators, The interior is full of material. There is different thicknesses all through them.

That's pretty darn creative!

I keep thinking of building a very heavy and slow crawler out of the cut and bent side panels of old beige PC cases. Chassis rails and body, everything.

Look to Mad Max and old Soviet military vehicles for inspiration and try to use as many bits and pieces of the guts of those same PCs for trim...

I tore 3 of them apart about a year ago, these were seriously old tech - got all the stuff dumped in a box.
