Default Enduro24! Element RC 1/24 scale crawler

Just saw this on the book of faces. Forward motor mount and a t-case is cool to see

Cool looking little rig! Just checked out the video on YT. Looks like it crawls pretty good!

May have to pick one up and see how it does compared to my SCX24 JLU!

Damn... I thought the CR28 was the small crawler which I wasn't interested in.. now they release this? I'll probably pick it up to add to my 1/24s.

Some of those parts look like SLS nylon like a shapeways part. I wonder if we're looking at some prototyped parts (links, front bumper and pumpkins).

Looks like the fasteners are bigger than the SCX24 which i would welcome.

I showed this to Topher already, but it looks like an RGT chassis and tires.

Look what Tim dug up... very very similar. Pumpkin is a tad bit different but not seeing much else.

Good find!

I know we have some member here that might have this rig already. spoo76 or something like that?

Would be good to see how it compares to the SCX24.

EDIT: New RGT Adventurer with front mounted motor!

I think electronics were an issue with the RGT. I wonder of Associated/Element has changed those out for something else, or if they're still using the same electronics as RGT.

They're also ring/pinion rather than worm gear drive as well.

Brad on FB replied to Tim stating the electronics, axles, and links are different.

I’m still into it at a m $99 price point

That's an 1/24 RGT Adventurer V2 aka FTX Outback Mini 3.0 in almost every way other than wheels and body.

They may claim the axles are different, but every single manufacturer I'm emailed when they have a teaser for one of these claims new parts even when it's the exact same.
Assuming this is the RGTV2/FTX 3.0
It's the same exact 2:1 axles used in the Barrage, all versions of the 1/24 RGT Adventurer, all versions of the 1/24 Outback Mini including the Outback mini 2.0 which is just a rebadged HobbyPlus CR-24, and of course the HobbyPlus CR-24. Axles are identical other than the diff housing center and interchangeable with each other. They are very similar to the old redcat sumo/HBX devastator

The tires are the same swampers from the RGT/FTX V1 and a cheap favorite

At best it may have different electronics but I wouldn't expect it. It would be nice if it had the turbo racing digital controller used on the HobbyPlus, but it's likely the analog version used on the RGT V2.

It's likely going to come with the same NIMH battery instead of a 2s lipo. The front motor setup has potential in custom builds, but with the stock wheelbase it pushes the motor past the grill on lots of my hard bodies.
Also the spur gear cover is also a transmission mount and bushing holder for the front of the spur gear making it not possible to use a bigger spur with stock parts.
I still say 030 and 050 motors are undersized at this scale and everything should be 130

It's a little disappointing they have done so little to an existing setup that needs improvements, they definitely took the cheap easy way out...but the plus side is there will be more factory parts available that work with the existing micro crawlers

Thanks for the comparison Spoo76

It says its going to come with a 1 cell lipo, great for kids I guess since you dont have to balance

The axles, links and bumpers ARE different. In the Element website photos, seen below, you can clearly see they are 3D printed. My guess is that RGT, or whoever the real OEM is, didn't have the production parts available at the time the photos were taken. Brad claims the wheels and tires are also 3D printed, but the tires have mold lines so...

It's a very cool truck and it's a great price at $99. I do like the scale layout of the drivetrain, but that motor is up high and I believe side hill performance is going to suffer because of it.

Brad also said they are already sold out which is impressive, but not shocking given the crazy popularity of the micros right now.

I think he may have thrown a little shade when he answered you about the tires

The axle housings look identical to the Barrage because that's what they based them off. HobbyPlus did the same exact thing with it's CR-24 prototype. Even the 2:1 gearing listed on the website is the same
It's the same exact 2:1 axle with a different case used in all the crawlers I previously mentioned. Also used in the CR-18, but with wider shafts,C-hubs, and rear lockouts.

I don't blame them for using an existing platform, but only a new axle housing, bumper, wheels and poorly molded lexan body is a bit lame.
New tires, and a nicer body with plastic details like HobbyPlus would have been a decent bare minimum.

Better quality electronics would be nice too, but I'm not expecting it based on what I'd see.

Ahh a marketing guy. That makes sense considering they claim new axles and links, but they really mean new looking axle housings and 8 mm longer links lol.

I see the 1s lipo on the website now, that tells me the electronics may "technically" be different somehow like maybe different throttle curves. Same quality and performance as what already exists though

All of the micro crawlers that I'm familiar with only use 1S. I think it's to keep the center of gravity down. And 1S offers plenty of power and run time for micros. 2S would probably snap parts.
