Question The future of Hardcore RC

I just learned about this, Mikey is moving on with his career and shutting down shop. It sounds like there are people (maybe TGH?) interested in keeping the brand alive. If so that would be awesome, especially if it’s an outfit with more manpower and maintains the quality and precision Mikey had.

Let’s try to keep this thread from turning into a complaint box about their shipping times, that gets beaten to death on Facebook every other week, and more on the topic of link makers and other options for these custom builds.

So who do y’all like for links? Besides intheworks.

This is good news. I wonder if all the offerings will stay the same.

They're great links, but out of 5 orders, 3 were wrong when I got them. And even one of the order corrections was incorrect. The thing that ticked me off was I never even got an apology.

I hope whoever takes over has a little more attention to detail.

I've never even heard of them, how long have they been around?

Wow that’s a shame. Customer service definitely wasn’t his strong suit.

I’m not entirely sure, they’re based in Colorado and have been doing some really cool things lately with Holmes hobbies and Gspeed. Great group of peeps.

Dlux fab or Hittman Fab for Ti links. They don't sell full link kits, it is on the end user to know the measurements and order appropriately. Which is fine for me, but doesn't work for everyone.

Mostly custom links for a wide variety of applications from RTR to custom comp chassis. His site was set up so you could pick a material, wheelbase, type of pan hard mount and type of axle which would ensure precise fit in most cases.

Long wait times, little communication, but usually a quality product where there’s not a lot of options available.

Odd to have a back and forth so quickly - closing it to living on. Strange. I have no experience with the brand.

Some good news! TGH is taking the reigns over. I’ve made several purchases from TGH this year and have received great service with all of them. Looking forward to the future of hardcore rc with them involved.

I think hardcore was a big source of links for their chassis (among with gspeed whom they work closely with) so they probably didn’t want to disrupt that option.

Something similar happened with Vader iirc.

Can't say I ever ordered from hard-core, but being able to order custom links is always a nice option to have. Certainly a sexier look that using threaded rod.

Who is TGH?

*sorry I am completely ignorant

Ah! Yes I have seen their parts in local build threads. I may yet build a flat rail chassis one of these days. My only competition is against the local rock. One day I am likely going to want to conquer more assertively...

Anyone use Samix links? I’ve interested in a Sherpa build and the Hardcore links are out of stock currently.

I've used in the works for 3 builds now and have been pleased with the links I've received. 1 high clearance extended brass wraith set, 1 extended aluminum wraith set and 1 high clearance brass gen8 set
