Some of the dislike for portal gears comes from the "they aren't scale group" who run non scale tires in sizes not seen on any vehicle. And then tires that don't exist in the 1:1 world, when is the last time you say a 1:1 running Hyrax tires. Then there are the coil over shocks rarely seen on any 1:1 vehicle. But God forgive those who run portals.

Then you have some comp people who think portals are only for those who can't drive.
