What do you do with all of your assorted left over parts?

I built a rig (with a litttle help from some of my club members from Route 66 Crawlers) that we can use to get nOObies interested in crawling, or if one of the club members to use when their rig goes down.

Parts is Parts (AKA...Chicken Nuggets...AKA...Nugget)

G-Made R1 Chassis
Enduro Links
RC4WD 100mm Shocks
Axial 3 Gear Trans
Axial SCX10 3 Gear Skid
Holmes 12T Trailmaster Sport
Reedy SC480X EsC
Amazon 25KG servo
3s 650mah Lipo

Donated or sold CHEAP from R66 Crawler members.

RC4WD 1.9 Mickey Thompson Baja Claws mounted on 1.9 beadlock wheels.
OG Axial AX10 Axles w/ Hot Racing aluminum upgrades
Losi RTR 2.4 Tx/Rx
HR metal drive shafts

All said and done, this is the result.

Nugget!

Shake down run this weekend!

I dig it... Looks great!

As I mentioned on the Injora cage release thread, I literally was just re-visiting the idea of the old R1, and a couple days later Injora released their version of the cage, and here you come along with a sweet budget build of the thing!

I certainly don't need another new project, but I may order the cage just because it's so cheap and it will be waiting in the wings for a rainy weekend.

Thanks, always thought the R1 chassis was good looking and resembles the minimalist U4 style chassis used a few years ago.

I ordered the Injora version as well, just to have for a rainy day project.

Thanks, it was a project over the winter that I have been contemplating for several months.

I hope your spare parts builds don't go like mine. I'm pretty well done with my spare parts capra. I picked up a roller with sthupershafty axles from here last year and robbed the axles for mine. I started tinkering with it and did 4 wheel steer using some new parts and my old front axle. Now it's on treal housings and an rcspeedy titanium cage for a class 3 rig. . Stinking snowballs some days.

I never hold on to enough to let it get out of hand.

I’m more of a rotation guy than I am a collector.

I'm neither. I don't sell many rigs but I don't collect many either. Buuuuut what I have is top shelf no matter what it is.

At least you're using the only good parts of the R1, I've always liked the looks of that chassis but never could get myself to buy one due to the abysmal axles they come with.

Yeah, never cared for the overall look or functionality of the R1.

But the cage, always been a fan.

I've got extra parts left over from builds or upgrades that I do. I save all my extra parts for back up parts for thoses emergencies or trail runs. I've mostly have enough parts to build new trucks minus the frames and transmissions.

Same here. I think a lot of us do the same. 👍🏼

Carlos! Hey buddy.

I’ve driven it a few times and it does well. Only issue is it’s limited belly clearance. A longer shock or a set of portals would solve the issue, but as this is a parts build, it will have to wait.

Going to run it in an U4 style race this Saturday. I’ll try to get some pics and/or video.

Good to hear, one of my local crawling associates say Nugget and ordered everything and wants me to build one for him now.

Looking forward to see what you come up with! 👍🏼

My injora chassis is set to be delivered tomorrow. I can't wait to put it together, but I had back surgery (#3) Monday so its probably going to be a week or 2 until I can get started.

I think I've got all the parts I need. I'm going to make aluminum links but other than the links it'll all be take off parts from other rigs.

Hey Joe, can you please post a picture of your front upper link mounts? the Injora chassis seems to be missing a couple holes for the upper link mounts

They didn't include the same upper link mount holes as the gmade they cloned. It looks like there might be one you can use for the rear. I just used the link mounts on the skid and it worked a lot better than I expected it would.

I did have to use angled rod ends at the skid to clear the driveshaft. I'm thinking about swapping to ar60s, but I think to do that I'll have to run the diffs on the opposite side for the driveshaft to clear. It'll look a little weird, but that seems like the easiest option.
