Default Bomber with Monster Pirate tires, need good 17MM adapter

Just looking to mess around with an old pair of Ofna Monster Pirate wheels/tires. I already tried the STRC 17MM conversion but I could not get the center nut to stay put. I tried blue loctite, a small lockwasher, but two would always back out.

I don't care what it costs at this point...lol, I just want them to stay put but also to remain removable.

We are currently using a Castle Mamba X combo and there's no issues turning these tires over.

Here's some pics.

The car drives rather well and just floats over the lawn. Only issue is the center nut just won't stay secure with this setup.

I'm open to all input.

Do you wait 24hrs after putting the loctite on before you drive it?

it sounds like the center nut on the adaptor is.coming loose ive found.if there is any slop in the hex at all ether at the wheel or the pin side th3 nuts will losen up i use tin foil behind the hex pin to take up the slop if its too much slop i cut a peice of aluminum can and.shim the pin so that its extremely tight i press the hex on to the pin with the nut

my wraith i had to shim the hex pin and the hex on the wheel and double nutted with red locktight to keep my wheel nuts from coming undone

Sorry for the late reply, I did not wait 24 hrs, maybe 4 or 5.

The is no slop in the adapter, everything is drawn up tight against the pin. I was thinking that as well, but it was definitely tight.

What adapters have been used with success? I'm up for trying anything, thanks for the help.

What it that monstrosity, I love it, looks like a blast to drive.

Try ditching that nut thing and go to a standard flanged nylon lock nut.

Look at the Hot Racing adapters that are used for the Arrma 3s lineup. I've had good luck with those on my son's rig.

We used this style 20yrs ago back in the tmaxx days. Never lost an adapter off the axle (probably several axles though). Looks like this one is made for 5mm shafts.

I'll get some pics tomorrow but managed to get the adapters to stay put. I had some 12MM adapters that extend the width that came with longer threaded tube with a hex head and not an allen head. I didn't use those adapters but I used the longer threaded tube. I was able to get a good bit of torque on the nuts and they held with the blue loctite.

The 17MM nut wasn't an issue, but the smaller allen-head threaded tube.
