Default TRX4 Rear Portal only

Anyone complete a mod like this? Was thinking I’d like to run rear portal only and know they make a kit to convert to straight. Don’t know if the gearing would work at all though

You'll have a ton over underdrive to the rear, which might be fine if thats what you're going for, this would be a comp kind of setup.

I guess what I'd want to figure out is how to get the front end spinning the right direction. I dont believe you can simply flip the ring gear to the other side on these. If thats the case you may need a reverse rotation T case and tranny combo.

The Trx-4 axles are geared extremely low. I put a set under my SCX10 Dingo. Before I switched both axles I did a little test. The Stock SCX10 axle was 2.75 turns faster then the Trx-4 axle. I have to go to a lower turn motor now. It will only do about 3mph with stock trans & 21t motor. You might have better luck getting closer to the right gearing with a SCX III portal axle, but I'm not sure on their gearing.
