Default Spring rate/shocks

Hi, I am struggling with my shock setup for my scx10ii jeep hardbody build. The body weighs 790g. I can't seem to find stiffer springs. I am thinking of gts shocks? Any advice? The lenght must be around 96mm.

Do you need stiffer spring or heavier shock oil? Or a combo of both. Best advise. Experiment.....

People tend to love them or hate them, but I'm a big fan of Desert Lizard shocks. They come with 3 different spring rates in 3 different sizes, so you can experiment with droop setups as well.

Do you want it to sit higher? The ride height appears to be good to me.

What issues are you having that you want to address?

i agree the ride hight looks good i would say your springs are ok for what your running

i would sugest tunning with shock oil and or piston tuning

but axial dose have a spring kit that has 3 different spring rates if you realy want to go that route

the way i understand it a spring should be stiff enuff to keep the vehicle at the ride hight you want it and soft enuff to allow full comprestion of the suspention outside of that its shock tunning that makes the vehicle handle

I also agree on the ride height, but will ask about preload. Do you have a mile of it to hit ride height, in which case you’ll probably want stiffer springs so it doesn’t pack even going slow. And as asked above, what is going wrong with your rig. Looks great by the way.

Thanx for the help guys, yup the height is right, it struggles to keep that height, so stiffer springs I think. The rebound is not good. Here in in South africa, upgrades is not that plenty. But many thanx to all the input, I will take all to heart and go from there.

Have you considered running dual springs with a center collar between then on the shock body?

This may allow you more ability to tune, and use shorter springs.

they probably wont ship to you but theres the part numbers so you can look around if you think they would work

also look at the local home improvement store or old toys alot of times toy trucks have stiff springs
