I know others will "chime in" on this...but, to help everyone out, it would probably help if you indicated what vehicle you're intending on installing this on...and, whether said vehicle is intended for trail crawling, or competition. It's kinda like asking, "What weight shock oil should I use?", without letting people know what the vehicle is, or the intended use.

okay, kit is a SSD Trail King and will be built for trail running. i probably dont have enough screws from the SSD kit to just swap over.

The Trail King Pro is great as-is. Plus, I'm not even aware of any sort of "conversion kit" for the Trail King Pro from RC4WD.

im building a leaf sprung trail truck out of it with a RC4WD conversion kit. i have read mixed opinions on the RC4WD hardware, so i want to take a look closer and find out what this is about before i start building.
having to change the screws after the kit is built would be annoying. i dont like poor quality screws.

RC4WD's hardware is cheap, low-quality junk sourced from somewhere in the basement of Asia. I suggest buying a quality hardware kit for the build.

RC4WD hardware is low quality. Just an FYI, the leaf spring axle mount will not work on the Trail King tubes. They only work on the AR44 one piece axles.

i know the leaf spring mount doesnt mount right up, so made sure to buy the right parts for it.
do anyone know of a place in Europe to buy hardware?

just looked at the Rc4Wd screws in the kit, they say 10.9 and 12.9 on them. does that change anything or are still poor quality?

Rc3wd can claim whatever they want, but ALL there hardware is junk. The bolts with my TF2 kit were a joke. Half the heads on the pre-assembled trans and diffs where already stripped out of the box. Other longer bolts were visibly not straight. The last straw was barely snugging a bolt into the chassis and breaking the head off. Gathered all the hardware up and threw it in the trash.

I use Team KNK stainless steel screws in all of my rigs. When I bought my RC4WD TF2 Marlin Crawler I immediately changed out all of the screws for Team KNK hardware.

RC4WD...

Chassis = Top Shelf
Bodies = Top Shelf
Transmissions = Top Shelf
Transfer Cases = Top shelf
Axle Assemblies = Pure junk
Drive shafts = Pure junk
Shocks = Pure junk
Mounting hardware = Pure Junk
Electronics = Meh... they're ok.
Tires = Top Shelf

I agree with everything here. Having had a Marlin I can confidentiality say it was my 2nd favorite truck. If the butter-soft hardware would be a bit better it would've been my top truck. The shocks absolutely suck if you want to run ANY oil. It'll come right out like the top's off. I'd still buy another one in a heartbeat though...along with a screw kit

Maybe I'm the only one that won't complain about the quality of the hardware. I used what was in the kit for the tf. All the hardware was OK and not messed up. But I'm not saying anyone here is wrong either. I think the most messed up part of the hardware kit was the way they labeled the bags and organized them. I would buy another rc4wd when the time and money allows it.

Im sure in the kit and with a little caution they're fine. But RTR marlin had a couple stripped and very torqued screws-as most RTR's have. I still think RC4WD is a great brand, you just have to know it's probablynot going to to rock bounce or hang with the comp crawlers It's a very modest truck and I think that's why I like them so much.
