Default Help with trans squeal/slip

Hi all, newb here.
After a good run through the mud yesterday and a rinse off, I go to drive today and my drivetrain is squealing and slipping. I took the trans apart and inspected for missing teeth but all were accounted for. I noticed a little rust on the bearings so I drenched everything in PB blaster and then cleaned and reassembled the trans. I put a couple drops of synthetic motor oil on the gears as it's all I had. Thanks for help in advance!

dose it make the same sound if you hold it upside down it looks like the problem is down the line and not the transmission it self
try playing with the clutch some
i would look at the drive shafts and make sure the axles spin free
also check the motor it might have something stuck inside it like a screw or a rock or something ive had that happen more than once

Yes it does. What all should I check for damage? Everything past the trans seems to be spinning fine

When my SCX10 0G gets squeaky it's the universal U joint between the output shaft and the drive shaft (shown in your video too). Try putting a drop of lube in the pin(s) that keep the universal joint together.

Thanks Meow.

I took the trans back apart and looks like this bearing is bad. Thoughts?

Remove the bearing and listen to hear for sound or you can also feel if it's catchy as you spin it.

Since you're doing your tear downs for maintenance I would also start greasing stuff up for repelling water/debris.

its hard to tell but in the video when it squeals are you letting off the throttle or is it slowing down on its own if its slowing down on its own i would look closer at the motor maybe lube the bushings and look for crap in side the motor

that bearing wouldent cause the motor to bog down dosent mean it isent bad though

Sounds like a motor bushing to me. Easy check, too. Take off the pinion and roll it. If it's quiet, it's not the drivetrain. Then give the motor a little throttle and you'll know right away.

If you clean out the motor (you can just run it slowly for a few seconds in a glass of clean water) and re-lube it and the noise persists, that cat done used up a big chunk of it's nine lives.

It is the motor, I took it loose and everything rolls smooth. I guess it's off to find a motor.

Side note, I responded to this right after I took the pinion off, but the moderator filtered my reply out. Oh well thanks y'all!
