| winch shooter
I want to make a device that shoots and rewinds winches forward using the power of the vehicle. I wonder if anyone has ever made it.

I've had this thought, you could do an easy spring loaded launching mechanism, either by hand or hook up a servo. Haven't seen anyone do it, also haven't looked, Gotta figure out the cable attachment and free spool. Maybe spring the spool so once the anchor shoots it unspools, It could work Sent from my LE2117 using Tapatalk |

Thanks. You'd better use the spring like your opinion. I don't know if the string will go well when shooting.

Do a little research on line launchers, and this will help with your design. Basically, you need something to actually launch your anchor, a free-line spool and easily lets the line out, then the winch to real it back in.

String will probably generate a lot of drag, you may have to let some line out before the launch. Hence the idea to spring it. Much like a tape measure in reverse. Currently looking at a foldable anchor. Should be doable with some common items or 3d printed parts, I think the hard part is going to be finding the room to fit everything neatly once it's all worked out. Unless your going for a bed mounted launcher, which, cool! What are you throwing this on? Sent from my LE2117 using Tapatalk

I think can make the wound roll idle and strengthen the shooting force at the same time as increasing the weight of the latch. It seems quite complicated to untie the strings in advance. I don't know what I'm going to shoot yet. Like a hook?

A .22 cal short barrel. Maybe an old single shot breakaway handgun. Tie the servo to the hammer mechanism. Load the anchor and some loose cable into the barrel and load up a blank.......problem solved! Might be frowned upon in some crowds though. Sent from my SM-T500 using Tapatalk |
