I like this trend of Axial coming out with things I'm not interested in. It's good for my wallet.

I agree fellas. Bring somethin out of the box to the table for a change. Im a ford guy, but i could stand to see somethin from, lets say, nissan, older dodge body, old ford pickup body, 80s datsun or chevy luv. Anything but another friggin jeep!

Was hoping maybe it’s gonna be a RBK3, since they forgot to change anything for the RBK2. Lol
Seriously 1/32? Waste of time and money if so.
Nobody wants ANOTHER Jeep?? Lol
I go to the local crawler course most weekends and want to puke looking at all of the Jeeps. The closest thing I had to a Jeep body was the one that came with my MST CFX-W kit but that’s the only body choice there was. For what it’s worth, my MST has a Cliffhanger body. Obviously whoever is making these decisions for Axial pops a chub whenever they see a Jeep so they decided that’s what everyone is gonna get. Sad

I don't even necessarily have a problem with the number of Jeep that do exist. Although I personally prefer older Jeeps (gladiator, XJ, CJs etc.) It's the lack of creativity that's annoying me at this point (probably a byproduct of the HH acquisition).

The 10.2 had several RTR options, Axial finally updates the SCX10 platform and it's a Jeep, it's whatever. Exciting new product announced, and get this, it's the SAME jeep, but this time it's small (the scx24 get some slack for the variety of RTR bodies available). Next "new" thing? The same jeep again, but now it's big. Now this! It's the Axial Jeep AGAIN. But this time its extra small (it appears)

Sorry. Rant over now. I used to want an Axial along side my TRX4 (a 10.2 would still be acceptable) but now they're all just the same thing. They're just boring.

Extended wheelbase SCX24 Jeep Gladiator. If so, I'm actually interested.

That was just basically confirmed on the Harley/SBG livestream.

The wheels and tires give away that it's an SCX24, but this also confirms it. price is Australian

$150USD... that's $15-25 more than the others. What I don't get (sure others will agree) is why they'd only include a 2Ch Tx/Rx. The Deadbolt & C10' both come with 3Ch systems, and the Jeep comes with a 4Ch. Sure, you're getting a vehicle with a wheelbase that's slightly (by only 22mm) longer, licensed tires, and a few scale accessories...but, the electronics is a definite "downgrade".

Probably their way of charging the consumers more without costing themselves more.

Technically it’s a 4-channel even though it’s only listed as a 2ch

You are both correct. Horizon screws up, yet again (I can't blame Rich, or Axial). Just watched the SBG video, and the Tx Matt was showing is identical to the one that came with my yellow JLU...so, yes, it's a 4Ch. If the bumper lights function the same as they do with the JLU, it's "on → flashing → off". Although, it won't be on mine for too much longer, as I'll be replacing the stock ESC/Rx with one from DasMikro, to which I'll be using my Noble NB4.

I have the v2 electronics in my new white JLU and I gotta say, they are MUCH better. As long as you don't want to go brushless I think the new ESC eliminates almost any benefit of getting a 3rd party ESC. Looks like this truck will use C10 front links and Deadbolt rear links and about nothing else new.

Interestingly someone on Reddit claimed that their local Traxxas shop was suggesting a new Traxxas 1/24 entry may be coming in the next week or two. And there have been a BUNCH of 1/24 scale portal axles showing up at third party retailers all the sudden - suggests to me that some Chinese factory is starting to pump out portals.

Pure tinfoil hat stuff here: I suspect the release of the Gladiator is more or less just a cash-grab to try to capitalize on their present marketplace domination before Traxxas makes an appearance with a much better stock truck and takes over the market share just like they did with the TRX-4. All the photos still show the v1 electronics and literally all they did was combine the already-existing long wheel bases and yet they still aren't even actually for sale yet.

I'm not really one for the 1/24th stuff and the SCX24 just isn't interesting to me, however, if Traxxas did a tiny TRX4 (6 maybe?) I would definitely buy one. Especially if they could make it a full feature TRX.
