New compact backyard crawler course

Built this small course today for some quick crawling/beers and testing/tuning.

1200lb of sharper edged type rock were $.05/lb ($60). Yes there are free rocks in the woods nearby but they are all round and smooth and I didnt want that.

Painted a Lowes bucket camo brown to serve as a base

There are 3 ways in and many different lines as it is configured now. easy to hard(er)

thanks!
Just picked up 4 more big rocks (300lbs/$15) and put them in the upper left. Gonna do some runs and see how it goes before making any changes.

I need to grab me some rocks. Would be perfect for my little narrow area.

Re: New compact backyard crawler course

i would sugest adding other materials to the mix plastic and or glass and or wood and differnt rock
the different terrain is alot of fun on a small course
old coolers are my favorite then buckets almost no tire gets grips on those and is a good excuse for some wheel speed

I'd think based on the looks of his landscaping he probably has a significant other that wouldn't take kindly to the junkyard approach to a crawlin' course!

His still looks like a garden.

Make the wife happy, that way she doesn't brain ya when you order another crawler!

:lmao:

lol and I totally agree. I could get away with some junk in the back-yard at my house but yeah... I wouldn't want to ruin that aesthetic there. Looks very nice as well as functional for crawling... win/ win.

Looks like a great little crawler course, psn.

Yes, trying to have it blend in with the scenery. Less flak from wifey this way.

First run on the course and also the first run for a 10.2 and the Amazon Dig trans. Markers are on the way.

lol

i am looking forward to finding some crawl spots down there when i visit

back to the op

having differnt terrain types really steps up the fun factor on small courses theres no reason the junk cant be hidden under other stuff just enuff showing for the rig to run on otherwise it gets boring real fast but theres always micros

in small spaces like that the micros rule the day

Its a small course but I had a blast at least for today!

Put another 4 big rocks (500lb) on the left this afternoon and it added a lot of complexity

My wife's go-to is "what am I going to do with all of this stuff when you're dead?"

Which I think is an indication that she knows something I don't.

But then again, my last load of materials dropped off was 3 tons of quikrete and mortar mix.

Before that it was 26 tons of concrete rubble. Oh, and 4.5 tons of decomposed granite.

"Compact" is not a word that gets used 'round here.
