ya know that chassis kind of looks like one you can buy from some guy on the board. Just f'n with ya, very impressive handy work there. I like it. Here is my future WK project Josh |

That is funny, that is exactly what I am doing right now. Going to do my bmv clone right now then onto the WK |

I'll be very interested to see how this turns out. I'm geussing that with the plastic chasis the WK has, it's probably not worth trying to do much with the stock one.

thw stock wk chassis is cheesy looking, but while i'm deciding on a "real" chassis i've been screwing with the stock one...it's not bad, or should i say i havn't broke it yet anyways, lol

The stock Chassis on the WK like mentioned earlier is cheesy looking.. and it has a lot of torque flex. Also very limited on your link and shock placement. I have bashed my WK VERY VERY hard and the chassis has held up... i think the flex has helped that though . so far only thing broken was the plastic upper link (30ft tumble down a 40-45* wall) and i did break the front axle at the tapered ball end in the wheel hub. Thats a nice looking chassis. I like the fact that these axles are another choice for crawlers now that the TLT is discontinued.

I'm curious what you're going to use for shocks on that rig. I broke one this morning (ok, my son did it, but I let him drive it - I knew he'd break something when I did it, so, I broke it) and I've been looking at the shocks I have laying around for the MGT and pondering whether or not they'll work like they should. These axles are interesting - I'm working on a way to mount the shocks and the lower links to one side of the axle - I gotta got look at JIA's ralph thread again to see how he did that |

Looks like if you're going to turn the mounting brackets on the axles, you'll have to get longer sliders. Are you going to use the Revo set or something else?

It takes way more skill to "knock off" someone else's chassis, vs. just opening your checkbook and buying one off the shelf IMO. You get props from me for building it yourself, even if it does resemble something someone else is marketing. It looks like some good fabrication work to me. | |
