Awesome! It should look kinda like mine when it's done, in that I designed mine to fit Tmaxx bodies and it uses 2.2" swamp dawgs. (Awesome tires) Cant wait to see it done! here are some pics of mine: http://www.gerrish.net/rc.htm -ryan

Nice Ryan. What is cool is my suspension looks identical to what you have done. I was skeptical at first that it was all strong enough, but the plastic seems to hold up pretty good so far to the twists tugs and pulls. I will have to snap up pics. Very cool. I can't wait to see yours out the door. Mine will have .... ummm... not sure yet actually. Just shooting from the hip as I go. I know this though. Once I pick a motor, it will have low geared transmission and a custom T-case. I have it on paper and parts on order. Just can't wait to see it all come together. Just need to find good driveshafts. So the Swamp Dawgs hook up pretty good eh? -Sam EDIT: So I found the camera and snapped up my first shot of the little guy. The wheel base is a bit too long and the temporary chassis isn't the right shape. Other than that, I am on my way to my first crawler.

Hi Sam, Looks good! Yeah the swamp dawgs are nice- a little taller than the Geolandars, and they have deep void (especially with a few lugs removed) for mud-slinging action. Hey, I just realized that you are the same Sam that I went wheeling with in Hollister! (I've got the Haflinger) Good to see you in RC! later, Ryan

The Hex's appear to be a standard size if one exists. I say this because I took the wheels off of an HPI gas 4wheel drive truck and they nearly bolted on perfectly. They use a solid pin through the axle to connect to the hex. The main problem with the rims from the HPI truck is that they require a slightly longer axle shaft to get more thread engagement on the nut. Not too bad though as it sits. I will probably make or find some heavier rims though to put some weight down low. -Sam

Thanks alot guys! Kinda suprised me that there would be any intrest in such a project Jordantor, sorry bud! I think Ryan got to it first (he had a blue Land cruiser bod on the first incarnation of his now 8x Rbgerrish, thanks alot man, I got alot of insperation from your blue Land Cruiser and the new Chevy. You build some killer stuff! 8O Slinkysam, it looks like you have a very nice bass there. At first I was not planing on using the servo mounts as link mounts but after looking at the geometery it looks like it would be a wise idea to keep them where they are and triangulate the bottem links. I think I'll add another set of aluminum servo mounts behind the others for streangth though. DCLXVI, why don't you own one in the first place? In relation the the hex thing, I'm using stampede "fronts" all around and they dont fit A small update I haven't made a huge amount of progress in terms of actualy building anything but I have finnalized my chassie design and the all important paint job. The wheels are narrowed and I built the beadlock rings from lexan, I also modified them so that the lock nut could be fully screwed down. The plastic for the chassie is on it's way so I'm hoping to have it going under it's own power by monday

That is awesome, good job so far Highmark, keep us updated. The TLT its an awesome little truck with great potential, here's some pictures of my TLT project i'm working on right now. Still need to install the pede tranny and build a custom chassis but with this setup the stock one works great, for now. Does anybody know the wheelbase measurement of the hpi bronco and the jeep body? It would be of great help! ...and the pics...

Thanks for the compliments guys The rims are Duratrax Overdrive ST rims firstumustcrawl, theyre about $8 a pair on TowerHobbies. The driveshafts are from an HPI rs4 MT, but imo, the only way to go here its with traxxas half shafts. What about the HPI Jeep Wrangler Rubicon wheelbase? Does anybody have that number? :?

Nishru, are you by any chance a member of RCMT? I know its bad to advertise other boards... however, I have a 6 page thread on converting to a 1:10 TLT. It has alot of info on it. including how to make a stock TLT 1:10 using different traxxas parts, its actually pretty darn simple, and requires little fabrication. If you cannot get into RCMT, let me know, and I can create a new thread in the small scale crawler forum, with all the part numbers and info to get started. The TLT-10 conversion will cost you about $250-270 for the TLT kit itself and the extra parts, tires, and body. Electronics will be added on top of that. Oh, I forgot you wanted to keep dog bones, so it'll cost a little less. THe traxxas ball diff to adapt to sliders will run about $35 (w/sliders), so you can take that off the top. SRO, most maxx bodies have a wheel base of about 270-280mm, so its probably in that range.

Thanks for the info PwT. You can also use the stock TLT diff and axle yokes with the traxxas sliders, just crank up the dremel and start cutting, thats what i did with mine and it works great
