Default X-factor2 or Mad Force/Armor

Ok guys I really like the idea of rock climbing. I just want to know which of these trucks you think would be best for me because i cannot decide, I am leaning toward the X-Factor. Now alittle background:
I won't be a serious climber just more of a "basher on the rocks". I want nitro powered. I already own a T-Maxx so the new truck would mainly be for climbing but I don't want to get too radical on the mods.
I like the idea of putting fluid in the diffs instead of locking them with JB weld so I could run this truck hard and fast. I just can't decide need help please. I am A NOOB

OK well you will get nowhere with a nitro powered truck on the rocks. If you are going to go with the X-Factor the only good thing on it is the axles. The Madforce is total crap, especially for rockcrawling, so don;t even think about that one. If you are going ot rock crawl then you will need something electric. I would suggest to start with either a TXT-1 or Juggernaut 2 as they are a good platform to start with and will crawl well with a few mods.

I agree a nitro truck would suck on the rocks. They build an electric brother to the Madforce, the Twinforce. I can't see why a Twin couldn't be a decent start to a crawler. They come factory with solid axles and, although not the most desirable,a 2 link set up. I've seen a few pics of stock Twins with 9" under one tire and the rest were firmly on the ground. Now thats not real impressive compared to some of the rigs that are build up. I feel though for a box stock rig though it's a pretty good start. I myself am going to try the Twin.

ok thanks for the input. I don't really want to get electric unless rock climbing is all i want to do. But I have looked at the txt-1. I just hate the thought of charging batts all the time.

I also hate charging batteries all the time. Nitro powered RC's work best at HIGH rpm's. Rock crawling is a low speed deal. Low gears and low speed is the key. Now if they made a 4 stroke nitro motor for RC's they might work a little better for low speed. Not real sure about that though

why not just get multiple gear reductions and pinions, that would let the motor do its thing at high speed and the truck at low

Basically he's sayin to use multiple trannies and low gear sets. That would allow the engine to scream at it's peak and the truck to just barely move. Seems to me the engine would get hot. Going slow there would be little to no air flowing through the fins on the engine to keep it cool.

There are 4-stroke nirto motors on the market, spendy but they are on the market. Search on Towers site and you'll find them... I think there is even a guy over on RCMT building a 4-stroke baja based truck.

you could mount a CPU fan for more air flow

OHHHHHHH I didn't know this. Would they do better in a crawler? Do you have to keep them tached up high like the other nitro motors?

Oh and yeah a guy could add a fan. I just figured that would add alot of weight.

Toyo, if you're talking about Thor he's building a dual 4-stroke baja truck. It's amazing and it's not even done yet.

I'm pretty sure 4-strokes don't need nearly as many RPMs as a 2-stroke so they would be better in a crawler. Though you would need to come up with a clutch that wouldn't slip, and would engage at low RPMs.

I had an x-factor and you can't gear it low enough, when you crawl it goes from bog to wheelspin. Also, I think the new x they took out the r-box so it has no reverse. Now that I type it, I don't think the mad force has reverse either. Like everyone says, you would be better off with electric. The axles from those 2 trucks are nice though.

i would definately get a Mad Force, they handle much better at high speed, are far more durable and jump better. the x factor is definatelty more for show than go. the only problem with the mad force is that there is not even an option for reverse. if you are wondering how i know just check the sig.

That is cool! I want one.

I'd say that you can make a Twin Force into an awesome rock crawler. If I had my pick of any truck, out of the box, it would be the Twin Force. Tons of potential but hardly a following yet. It won't be long until we see a heavily modified one and we will all be oooooooing and aaaaaaaaaahhing over it.
