planning to build a crawler. what do you guys think of those new jps axles?

they are very shiny.

alot of money integy now is making all the alum axle parts like the center housing tubes knuckles alot cheaper then anyone else

Cast Aluminum vs Machined Billet Aluminum
 

I am not a technical guru, but I do know that the difference between the Integy parts and the JPS parts is one that defines the strength of the part. The integy parts from what I have found are cast aluminum parts, whereas the JPS parts are machined from a solid billet of aluminum. As to how much stronger the JPS parts are, I do not have a quantitative measure. The Integy parts are much cheaper because the manufacturing process for cast parts is way less time consuming and there is alot less "wasted" material compared to machined parts. I would love to see someone do a strength/stress test between the three gearbox types: stock plastic, cast aluminum, billet aluminum.

its up to the person really i still use all the plastic parts i have yet to break anything knock on wood

the reason why im looking into the jps axles is because of durability. i only want to purchase one axle. i dont want to go with plastic or cast then break something then have to replace it again. to sum it all up in a nut shell i want to "build it correct the first time" if thats possible.

IMO, billet aluminum axle housings are overkill.

But if your budget permits them, they sure do look cool!

I'm still using the stock TLT axle housings. They seem plenty strong for the scale of application. The weak links would be the ears and axles, and there are good aftermarket solutions for those issues.
