I was talkin to someone and he said straight axles are better but I thing independent is better. Dont get me wrong I love straight axles but I think IFS or IRS is more versitile because more tire is on the rock. What do you think?

Are there any pro 1:1 rock crawlers out there running IS? Walker tried it and torched it all off in favor of going back to solid axles. I think this applies to the RC crawlers as well. I have yet to see an IS RC rig that has the capability equivalent to a solid axle rig. Without going into the technical reasons of why solid is better than IS, I would just say that the IS world is better suited to high speed racing. I think we all know the benefits of using solid axles in the rocks, right? I would love to see someone make a truly functional IS rig that can spank all us solid axle guys. Maybe you can be the guy!!!!

I thought the pro rockcrawler who had the drab green sami made a IS crawler. It worked well from what I heard. Instead of the wheels going into the dips in the rocks (like a straight axle), the tires just floated over them. He needed locked diffs to go anywhere on the rocks, but I thought it did well. That was a while ago though. I didn't keep up with it. Anyways, for RC straight is better. You just can't get an IS rig to conform to the terrain like a SA.
