Links- length and how many is necessary ?s

I am just curious as to how many links are really necessary for a capable crawler.
I've seen a bunch with 4 links and 3 links that are very capable.
I was just curious about a 2 link set up, I havent seen many if any.
Would a 2 link work?

Also the lengths, are longer links better or are shorter links better?
Does it depend on the chassis?
How do you determine the link lengths for a crawler?

Sorry for the newbie questions, any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks

The length of the links is determined by what wheelbase you plan to use. You will also need the chassis and axles in order to see just how long your links need to be to get your desired wheelbase. Each chassis will most likely be different.

if u want to make ur worn use 1/8 metal rod, thread it and then get some cheap carbon arrows and cut them to the lenghts and put the rod inside of them and put the ends on and they will be so strong, i have used mine for a year and they havnt broke or even cracked!
