Default Mag Mayhem reversing questions

Hey guys,
I have the forward rotation motors but could I just flip the endbell 180 degree? Is that the only difference between the forward and reverse cans? Is there any difference between swapping the wires and rotating the endbell?
thanks

do you have a clod?

I have a maxx/factor hybrid but I'm going to use the GD-600 gear reducer and it requires reverse rotation motors. I was hoping I could easily change my forward mag's

I have heard of reversing the endbell to make a standard rotation motor into a reverse rotation. But never tried it or knew anyone that did it.
I do know that swapping the + and - wires will not make it a reverse rotation motor. It will spin backwards but will be very inefficient and put alot of extra load on the ESC.
Mag's are cheap, I'd sell them and buy reverses.

I would assume that you could either wire it backwards or just flip the endbell around like you said. Should reverse polarity...

well guys I tried the 180 rotation and it doesn't work. It was clear that the rpm's were much lower than the forward rotation thus meaning it is not efficient. This can damage the ESC from what I'm told. I think there is not difference between swapping wires and rotating the endbell. Tried both and got the same result, lower rpms. Seems the timing is setting for forward rotation only and no way to adjust it unless I use a can from a modified motor. :(

lol, that's great that you bought that stuff. I told him about this site....better than ebay! Well I decided to turn my tranny around instead of getting the reverse motors.
The GD-600 reducers are on the way from towerhobbies
