Hey Guys, Just signed up on the forum. I am getting ready to build a custom rock crawler and was wondering which shocks I should go with. Looking for something with a lot of travel. Any suggestions? I also have a stock X-Factor but hope to change that in the near future. Later

Maxx type shocks typically work the best for a clod or TXT based truck with cantilevers. Some people use savage shocks but you need to plan that out a lot. I use XTM XFactor shocks on my Digler rig and they work even better than maxx shocks due to their extra length and durability. What type of truck do you plan to use?

I have a set of clodbuster axles to start my build with. Im not looking to build anything really extreme my first time. I am getting a mini lathe and mill in the next couple of weeks hopefully so i will be making most of my own custom parts

I used some 120mm shocks from RC4wd.com and modded them to be alittle longer there just a little shorter (about an inch) than savage shocks... and they give my Jugg huge artic... and they look nicve too... there only like 50 bucks for a set of 4... check um out... Later Jake

I use MAXX shocks, too, with the red springs and no oil in 'em... I get suspension squat on take off and brake but pfft... It ain't no racer... The shocks work VERY well with no oil at all... Fast and on spot just when I need them... I only ever have a wheel stay up when I'm under full or near to full power and the torque keeps it up... Otherwise, All wheels are headin' down...

So alot of people use some version of Maxx shocks even if they aren't Traxxas? I have thought about getting some Big Bore shocks for my build (lol if it ever gets fully underway).
