Default No aluminum Maxx sliders? :(

Is there nobody that makes an aluminum maxx slider? Took my newly finished and modified TXT out for it's second run today. Twisted one of the plastic sliders. :P

Took a look on ebay and only found CVD's. It seems like with all the bling bling aluminum maxxes out there, someone would have done this by now.

If not, anyone have any other solutions?

What sliders are you using? Old Maxx or 2.5 Maxx sliders?

I've got an idea on how to build some custom shafts from steel. I refuse to pay that much for a RC driveshaft. Come to think of it,I refuse to pay that for a shaft for my 1:1 crawler. If I can find a way to get some cheap ends, the ujoint sections like pictured on the above pictured shaft, I could build a good shaft dirt cheap. It's just an idea right now,it may work but it may not. If I could find the parts CHEAP I'd try to build some.

I'd say what it is but it's a secret right now

it involes a allen wrench and an extention for a corless drill

sounds like it's time to play with some JB weld and sqaure tubing...its time for the square d-shafts to make their way to the RC world also

my dad has some plastic stuff out in the shed and it's thicker than hell, but i have no idea what it would go to..it looks like a maxx slider, but i have no idea what female would go in it.. maybe i'll post a pic of it and see if anyone elese can figure it out :?

I was kinda thinkin that surely someone had tried or at least thought of it already, wasn't sure though. How did they work? The u-joints,are they just 1/4" wobblies? I was thinking of trying 1/4" drive stuff, wasn't real sure how they'd work at high speed though.

How did they work at speed and how much angle could you get before binding up?

toyofast -> where can I find those?

I'm using the Maxx 2.5 sliders. I replaced the rear this morning and then saw that the front one was already twisted, but not broken yet. :( Gotta do something. THis sucks. heh

Sweeeeet!

Looking at the pricing, if we can get an order of 10 or more, the price will go down to $68.82. Certainly there are five people on this forum that would be willing to pay that right???

HAHAHA... right. Not me. I like my cheap 2.5 Maxx sliders... although once I can get my hands on the sliders off the REVO I'll be much happier!! Bigger and have more splines = tougher than 2.5's!!

My current 2.5 Maxx sliders are twisted, just swap 'em out for more(I have a small stack of them). The splined side(male) is the only thing that really gets tweaked with my setup, well, and I tend to snap the ear on the yokes from time to time. The Revo parts will solve a lot of these slider problems I think.

toyofast,

Have you tried the 1/4" wobbly/allen wrench deal in anything? I'd like to hear something about how this worked.

A guy could come out ALOT cheaper this way.

I like cheap

Yeah tell me about it

I only built one, then I realized how much the damn things wieghed. If I had something with Kongs (and I hopefully will....soon) and a 500:1 gear ratio I might try it, but its just to much wieght to slap on my 2.2 size trucks :(
