Boy,I heard that. I like the EXO cage but there's been times I've thought about cutting it off. It's only gotten as far as a thought though cuz I don't have the time to finish it up cleanly with a good inside cage. I have way to many project going to start another. One day the EXO will come off but I want to catch up on a few other things first.

I want to be able to cut it off and imediately build an inside cage. A trial rig HAS to have a cage, thats a given, and I don't want my Yota to be down for several months trying to build a cage between other projects.

It's a hard call. In a way I like the EXO and in a way I'd rather have an inside cage. Until I decide 100% inside cage the EXO will stay cuz it's already there and finished.

I guess I'll keep swinging on my jungle gym

If its just going to be a 1:10 scale, make it fit a B2; no matter what it'll be too short for a bigger rig, and bodies that are too long look REALLY silly, but bodies that are too short only look sort of silly.

OOH! Idea.

1st gen yota w/ shortbed: 12.25" wheelbase...

Then stretch out the bed so its a longbed yota: 16~" wheelbase!

Leave the exo, its sick. Didn't you catch kids playing on it one time or was that someone else?

No,wasn't me. My son swings on the front bumper from time to time. Thats not really the cage though, most rigs with tube bumpers could be used as a swing. I would imagine coming out and finding a pile of kids climbing on your truck would be quite funny. Maybe I'll park it in the playground at my sons school. I could here him now,"hey guys, lets go climb on my dads truck".

They should dovetail it! That would look sweet with an exo.

I would have to agree,it would look sweet if you could buy a Toyota body dovetailed front and rear, already done. But at the same time I'd like to have a Toyota body uncut, thatway we could cut them the way we want.

As far as the mold goes, whats it made out of? Could an average guy with average hand tools build one?

This is an e-mail response I got from McCallister:

Hi Alex
The Toyota truck body is pretty close to the standard size of any off road truck body for the Associated or Losi trucks. Changing the shape of the body, would require a new mold. I'm looking for a picture of the Toyota body.

I just hope its a realistic looking body. But from the sound of it, it's going to be a RC10 type of body that looks like a stadium truck.

Originally we were going to attempt a new body which is still possible, but the mold process is very time consuming and expensive. If the flat fender does end up being the most popular option than a mold would be needed and Mcallister will pull it to form. I am also speaking with the makers of bandit bodies to see if they have an interest.

The poll was designed to assist Mcallister in making a decision to make us a body and the Toyota truck seems to be the easiest most popular option right now since a mold exists already.

Please continue to vote because the most popular option could still come to form.

I emailed McCallister explaining that I would like to try my hand at creating a mold, but he didn't really want to divulge the techniques involved in doing so. From a business stand point, I can see why. But it's not like I'd be mass producing the dang thing and starting my own lexan body business. :?

Well if that is the case then the wheelbase is going to be around 10" to 11.5". My T4 the wheel base is right at 11.5" but most stadium truck bodies are a little shorter. The wheelbase of the body is more around 10".

So it sounds to me like that if this body looks pretty good then it will work great for most smaller scalers but we are still going to have to come up with a body and mold for the txt and clod guys.

Default body options

These are the body options. Please keep in mind that they were designed for the associated and losi trucks of the 80's. I will get the wheel base ASAP. Please let me know if you would like these pulled to form and which one. I will have a few done and try to post one painted.

The Toyota SR5, Nissan Extra Cab, & the Jeep Cherokee.

i like the SR5 lid ESP. with the flaired rear fenders...............but it would have to be more of an 1/8 scale body like the HPI has for the savage('73 bronco&rubicon) to fit the 15"+ WB trucks...................if it were that size1/8 scale "ish" I'd order a few.........or more
