| newbie lots of questions needs answers
I am looking at a new unbuilt PTI Goliath. What exactly would be the basic modifications needed to turn into a 12.5 wb truck? I have the electronics. Im just not sure what to do to it first. Any help would be greatly appreciated

First, Is it the early Goliath MT, or the Crawler Goliath kit? and Second, Red Bluff rocks! I have family there still... and it sure gets hot there too!

Just wait for PTI to release their 12.5 inch extension kit. It should be out soon.

The Crawler version has all the goodies we had to buy for the original MT version. I didn't think it was going to be so short? You will need different upper and lower links and longer CVD bones for the 12.5 stretch. Search the threads for posts by Skeeno. He knows what's what for the Goliath and he ended up with my stretched Goliath...

Thanks for the links guys. Can you tell me why most of these guys put down this truck??? I like the way they look, I ran one at the PTI booth at the Axial championships. I think its very sweet. The only thing im worried about is all the issues I keep hearing about the diff gears.Does everyone have this issue? Thanks again |

I think the plastic gears is the main reason people bash it. Lack of Gear reduction would be second on the list. IMHO if you set up the gears right when you build it and make sure that the axle case is tight, you might replace the gears once a yr....or maybe not ever...I beat my pretty hard and after I got the axle cases tight I have only managed to destroy wheel hex's (easy fix, ditch the stock wheels off the bat and go with HPI)
