Default cantilever steering setup

im looking to get more travel/torque outta my steering setup. the 645 is straining to steer the jeep,

what i want to do is connect the link from the servo to a lever mounted on the other side of the frame then a link down to the knuckle.
im going to use an hd servo horn with a bushing for the lever then depending on where i mount the links on it will determine throw/torque multiplication.

could also use this to mount the servo some where else on the chassis and use an L shaped horn instead of a straight one.

any thoughts on this?

You're going to have to pick one. It's either more torque less travel, or less torque more travel. Interesting idea.

ditto; The farther out on the servo horn you go the more travel you will get, but the servo will have to work harder (less output toque) to turn. The idea is the same for an L shaped cantilever bracket. If the sides of the L are the same it will be 1:1 with no advantage either way (except to relocate the servo). If one side is longer than the other you'll either gain travel OR torque but not both. Hope this helps.

Why not just get a higher tourqe servo so you can keep the travel and have more tourqe?

Good luck with it. I've run bell cranks several times on my axles for steering. I've tried several different set up's and have yet to see a difference in power/torque values. It is a great way to get more or less throw and to move the part quicker or slower.
