If your going to flame for incorrect spelling and punctuation, you should practice what you preach. |

I would imagine that WK axles would be too small for 1/6, as they are normally used for 2.2 crawlers. Quote:
I've noticed he's getting a bit better at the whole 'English' thing, though.

The WK axles will work well for what you are looking for. The WK axles don't work very well for 2.2 scale builds simply due to the width. I bought the nitro MT knuckles and drive cups to narrow one of my sets up but it just didn't make a big enough difference. Obviously M715 doesn't know what he is talking about with these axles, as long as you make sure you diffs are shimmed correctly you should be fine. Depending on your wheel and tire choice, if you need more strength you can always add CVD's (search Lonewolf's build) also RCP will have CVD's available soon from MIP. The axles look fairly close to scale and will work just fine. |

I'd agree, the WK axles would do fine, just build them up according to the abuse you plan on throwing at them. The Twins could be narrowed enough with an offset diff as well. In all honesty though,it sounds like wheelie king axles will fit your build better. Last edited by Reflection; 07-04-2007 at 10:06 PM.

I would think Wheely King axles would work. And if they are too wide, you can always narrow them. A friend of mine modified a TLT to accept Wheely King axles, and he narrowed them just a bit, and they are perfect, and that being said, they should already but wide enough for your build. But your could also go with Mad Force axles. They seem pretty tough and would surely be wide enough. |

Yea, WK axles should work fine - I'll just repeat the diff thing. I've got a Crawlermaster running on 12 cells (don't look at me like that, having more power than you need doesn't mean you have to use it!) and I grenaded a diff yesterday showing off (ok, so I used it!) but it took a whole lot more to break it than I thought it would. The people watching (non-R/C folks) were all picking their jaws up off the ground. And no, this diff was not correctly shimmed - I knew better, but ran it that way anyhow. I'll be tearing the axle down over the next couple of days and rebuilding it (along with either the front diff or tranny in my MGT, which also broke yesterday while I was showing off!) and I'm sure I'll be able to provide some extra tips on getting it right by the time I'm done. Anyone notice I broke a lot of R/C stuff yesterday? Man, did I have a good Forth! Hope everyone else did too |

i think WK axles should hold up fine if you build them right, and they should be about the right width, check out slugzracing's "Shelly" build. for the diff you might want to look into getting the 13/36 hardened steel ring and pinion set. |

If you are planning on a Maxx sized tire (around 6") or smaller, you'll be fine, but trying to run 40 series, 7" tall tires, that might be a bit much for the WK axles.
