Well first off the Stock motors can be modified to achieve more power and sometimes better runtimes. I use both modified stock Can Clodbuster 540 Mabuchi motors as well as 19 turn Speed Gems depending on turain. To modify the stockers you will need the following. 2 Stock Can 540 motors with 13 tooth pinions 4 Sub C Cell batteries, 1200's work just as good as 3000's Bucket of Water WD 40 or Motor Cleaner for Electric motors and a Blow Dryer. First things first Wire the 4 C Cells together and add a positive and negative wire lead to them. Charge the battery's to peak Next Add to the wires some Gator Clips or a Deans connector to both the Motors and the batteries, Tamiya Connectors work too. Grab a bucket, 1-5 gallon bucket works fine. Add Water half to 3/4 full Put the motor in the water up to the top or Bell end of motor attach the Battery pack to motor and run motor in water till batteries are dead. Clean the motor with Cleaner or WD 40 spraying all of the Epoxy and gunk out of motor, now while doing this Recharge battery to peak. Dry motor with Blow Dryer Repeat process 2-4 times this process not only removes some of the Excess epoxy but allows the motor to turn at a higher Rate of speed and to produce more Torque over stock. Works great and the motor has 2 times the torque of stock and speeds close to that of a 19 turn motor. Best of all its cheap and works great. Later Tom

Yup good tips there-that also works on Traxxas stingers and other closed can motors. Alot of guys out there run Magnetic Mayhems from Kyosho.

Yeah I would run Mag Mayhems with some low tooth pinions. That would be the best set-up in my opinion. jugg_crawler

Wow I never heard of that water trick! I have five different motors I run each with thier own personality. I am putting them in order of preference, first being my favorite. All of them except the Rush are 550 size cans. 1. Kyosho Megas: Loads of torque, better speed than the MMs 2. AYK Magnum 360LBs: lots of torque, better speed than the MMs 3. Magnetic Mayhems: lots of torque, low speed 3. Electrifly T-600s: Cheap ($14 each) equal to the MMs in all other areas 4. Orion Rush 27turn: Good torque, good speed

yeah Rich the water trick is an old puller trick as well as an old hop up in the 80's that still applies today. Give it a try, it works we do it with most of our stock motors Tom

yup i run magnectic mayhems with 14t pinions and i plan on going lower. Oh and by mistake, i ordered the reverse rotations, both of them. but this was an advantage. what i did was flip everything around so now my battery tray sits up front and electronics in back. turned out to work quite well
