Default high clearance links

just curious if you guys think high clearance links are worth it?

I have seen some people do it and others not.

I would like to do them but it seems thay would make your diff hang up more on the rocks.
whats your opinions?

thanks

You caint make climbs like this without high clearance links in the rear. They have no effect on your diff.
It's not so critical in the front though.

Agreed, i wont ever run straight links again, makes a world of difference on the exact stuff grizzly showed you, and crawling through smaller boulders.

Pretty Simple to do too-

Just buy some traxxas links that are a hair to long, stick em' in the vice 2 at a time (fronts together, rears together) Bend them to the length of your straight ones, and youve got high clearence links. I helped bob make his on his new rig, he likes them a lot too.

I used 3/8" Delrin, allthread, and revo ends to make mine

I got the delrin from usplastics.com and the revo ends from LHS

I really don't like to run around topless. The wind chafes my nipples.

LOL!!!

I already have my links made out of 8/32 all thread with revo ends. I wouldn't mind going to the high clearance in the rear though. Could i just bend the links that I already have made? And if so, it looks like you guys are bending them more towards the axle than in the middle of the link right? And about what kind of angle do I want? 20 degrees or so? I know these questions may sound stupid, but I would rather ask and sound stupid than not know! Thanks guys.

I bent mine at 1 1/2" from the axle mount. How much? Not much. Just kind of a trial and error. You can bolt the two together so they bend at the same rate.

HC links are definetly worth it, i cant imagine having straight links now after running bent ones for a few months.

Maybe a few side shots of rigs with H.C. links just for reference.

Use electrical tape...

Nice links, btw. I was going to try to cut some trick looking ones out of Delrin plate, but why go through the hassle when bending them up is so easy? Might still do it in plate just for the scale look. We'll see. Nice rig man!
