where to buy?? motor question

where else do you guys buy the MM motors?

i looked on Tower and they are out until late Aug. and i also looked over on RC4WD. com and only seen the Titan motors

also, my LHS has a trinity 27 turn motor. has anyone used those before? are they any good?

Re: where to buy?? motor question

did a search....
http://www.prop-shop.com/WCAREMOT.HTM
these guys have them...but they are WAY over priced, 31 bucks!

this may work though...
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...LXJ765&P=7

its not a mag mayhem...but you got silver can power! they are "600's" by plane specs, but are actually 550's. i don't know how they perform, but i plan to pick some up for my crawler project.

the specs of the two motors are similar, input voltage, 22x1, 550 can size. the great planes motor has 3 degree timing locked in...and you can't change brushes. if these don't work i still have a pair of hashed MM i can throw into the crawler if neeed be.

Re: where to buy?? motor question

I got mine from Tower in May...So I am not sure. Just search all the online hobby shops. A little long and boring..but it is the best I can come up with.

Re: where to buy?? motor question

27 turns is a stock wind. The mag mayhems are 22 turns.

Less turns = more power and torque and the mag mayhems are 550 cans which means the magnets are stronger which gives more torque.

So, the 27 turn won't be up to MM snuff.

Re: where to buy?? motor question

ahh ok, i thought the more turns the motor had, the more toque it had no matter what. if that's the case then why are people running those 55turn lathe motors? or is that comparing apples to oranges?

Re: where to buy?? motor question

hm, i didn't know guys were running 55t motors.

anyway, the Kyosho X-speed 550's (twinforce motors) are 27 turn stock motors. the reason they have such good performance is that they run doulbe their normal voltage when used with the EVX (made for 6-7 cells, but getting 12-14 cells).

i know that hobby people.net and stormerhobbies.com don't carry those motors. hobbypeople.net only carry kyosho kits and stormerhobbies.com doesn't even carry Kysho...thought that might help.

Re: where to buy?? motor question

the main page is www.rccaronline.com but here is the lathe motor http://h1070383.hobbyshopnow.com/ser...&tag=qsrch

i should be getting mine here in a few days, so we shall see how it does. i just hope it isn't too slow to where i cant bump up stuff and hopefully it fits in the 1st place :D there is a guy on here CHSracing that told me he was using them in 2 of his trucks and he really liked them. so i thought what the hell :flipoff:
