| Locked the rear diff...
hey..as u know i have an xfactor.. and i was going to lock the diffs with araldite epoxy...but i thought before i lock the diff up with the glue.. i might just flip a spider gear over.. well i flipped one over..and it still had a tiny movement before it was fully locked..so i flipped another spider gear over (one directly beside it) and it is know fully locked no movement..so will this work good or not?? dirk u prolly know..so yeh i have flipped 2 of the 4 gears over.. hope this works ryan |

My rear diff, I blew on Saturday but it was actually welded via MIG welder. I have yet to open it up to see how much damage I did but it doesn't like to rotate now. Big rocks, lots of gear reduction, Kongs and a weaking rear diff don't mix:

If you hear gears stripping... which you will if you haven't yet. It'll be the ring and pinion stripping each other out. You'll just have to shim the diff/ring gear closer to the pinion. But you may also strip the diff gears(the 4 little ones)... only time will tell. If you can, stock up on some spare ring gears

Oh and good thinking on the spider gears! I never thought of that one. If the gears do strip, I think u should just use jb weld or that epoxy stuff u mentioned. I jb welded my old black X- F diff that was stripped when I bought it, and it held up realy well.
