I am using four 1/8 scale nitro buggy front shocks on my J2-TT comp rig with TLT Axles. I am using four 1/8 scale nitro rear shocks on my sons AX-10. I have encountered some difficulty tuning the suspension on both rigs and it has taken some time to find info on spring rates, spring length and how they compare between the different manufacturers. I like using the 1/8 scale nitro buggy shocks because they are strong. The shock shafts are all 3mm and the shock bodies are threaded aluminum. I run them upside down for a low C.O.G. They have been working well once you get the correct spring rate. Please feel free to correct or add to it. Hopefully it will be useful to someone. Pictures are all that some people look at. This way we trick them into learning. Springs with part numbers below. Last edited by Grizzly4x4; 11-03-2008 at 11:58 AM. |

Thanks for referring me here Nova's Ark. Does anyone know what the spring rate of the stock red Traxxas XXL Big Bore shocks is so that can used as a comparison with the Losi spring rates? I have the red Traxxas springs on the aluminum Big Bores and they are way too stiff......Thanks as always for any input!

there is but I've only seen the Losi guys have them... i believe they're black or really dark grey. And the wire itself is super thin...

I've looked for those myself but came up emtyhanded....however, I believe the red mini-t spring is close to the Gold and the pinks are quite a bit softer than that.

Also has anyone checked the new axial springs vs. the losi golds? I have some of the new 1.04's and they seem stiffer than the losi golds to me....what say you?

| Both springs were brand new? Or were the golds well used? As springs get over compressed and then stretched out again, the spring can become damaged and feel softer...
