Default mounting the body

my question is simple. which body posts did you guys use with the x-trail chassis? and did you mount the post going up through the top of the body or out through the side? (post pics of how you mounted the posts if you have them.) thanks in advance for your help guys.

i do not have an xtrail but on any chassis it would be preaty much the same but it would be better to run them through the top so the can not really get hung up on anything . but if you are building a scale truck i recomned velcro.

x2 on the use of velcro it will help you keep a solid scale look and you dont have to worry about losing body clips.

I got ahold of a prototype X-Trail when they first came out... I used side mount posts... go to RCP and find the HPI body posts: they're like 4 inches long and can be trimmed to any length...

the best part about em is that they've got holes running the whole lentgh of the post... as opposed to like 4 holes at one end...

After I mounted my body on my x-trail, I had automatically wished I had gone with velcro, for the cleaner look...

the side mounts simply got hung up too easy...

overall: go velcro!

I used Duratrax body posts with 5/16ths inch steel fuel tubing as an anchor to the frame. I cut off the fatter end and slid them inside the tubing. I hate wimpy body posts!

ok thanks for the help guys, now all I have to do is figure out a way that I can use the velcro to mount the body to the x-trail chassis.
