I guess it will depend on how often you need to remove it.

On mine; JK on a Bruiser chassis I made it so I don't need to remove the body to access things. With a little planning I made it so I can program the ESC with a Castle Link, remove and install the lipo and even remove and install a 9v batt. for the lights if I choose to run them with external power.

I used 4 of the 6 factory New Bright mounts. It seems pretty strong using only the front and rear factory mounts. If you want it to be even stronger then you can use the center mounts as well.

I used 3mm bolts and some small spacers to get the height I wanted. The bolts are threaded into the factory plastic about 10mm.

I took some of the M3 screws used to hold the rod ends onto the links and screwed them into the 4 new bright body mounts. I then screwed the axial plastic body mounts into them and was able to make to cross braces for the xtrail frame and just drilled some holes and used body clips to the hold the body on. It seems to work really well and is relatively easy to remove, without detracting from the whole scale look. I don't have any pics at the moment, but if you want some let me know.

I just finished the rear mounts last night, but did not get to take any pics of it. I will take some hopefully tonight and post them up before I do all the tidy up work. It actually works out pretty good and it allows the body to come off very easily. I did add some additional holes in the axial body mounts though to allow me to mount the body lower and still hold it down.

here is how i did mine, i made it so the body can swing open to get to the battery.

here with it open

here is the front bracket

here is the rear bracket, that allows the swinging action, note the rod coming off is a rear stinger bumper

sorry for the small size, ill try to take some bigger ones later

I think so, I was looking for something similar Rescue Green like on my 1:1 Rubicon but I came up empty handed. I am kinda liking the OD green though..

I finally got around to snapping some pics of mine. I had the body since back in November when they first started to show up around here, but just got the xtrail for xmas. It not real pretty yet, but these were just my mock ups to get it worked out first. Will clean it all up nice, and paint everything black. Also going to paint all the links and everthing else black as well. I got a bunch more plans yet, but not a whole lot of time to enact everything.

Here is my front bracket.

The rear bracket, don't mind my temporary radio box.

The only thing I did to the body to attach it.

All I have to do to adjust the height depending on tires, etc. is to adjust the upper body clips.

Here is a pic of what it looks like mounted up.

WB isn't based on wheel size. Believe mine is right at 13"

Yea I am running the 2.2's. My WB is also right about 13", maybe just a hair shy. I made a skid and run my links very much inboard, so I had to use axial green spacers in between the rods and the link bars on all 4. This then made my driveshaft too short, so then I had to custom make one with two output shafts at the moment. I plan on switching to MIP cvd's at some point, although I am slightly concerned about there length as well. I am only running those big tires at the moment to fill up the wheel wells. I ordered an R2 trans, straight axle adapters, and plan on running the mud slingers when its all said and done most likly. I may run those tall tires some, but its pretty easy to adjust my body height. I got way more plans for this, I am just in the middle of a truck restoration, so my time is being split between both at the moment. It will get some more tweaking at some point.
