Default Steering parts?

I am trying to work out a steering setup on my scaler, and the steering "box" parts on a Tamiya F-350 look good. My quesstion is, are these joints capable of handling tough turns and high tourque? Is there any company making something similar in allu with bearings? And I looked through Towers F-350 parts list and couldnt see the metal shafts in any available bags. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about.

I don't know much about the high lift steering box, but if you have any brazing skills you can make one that will be plenty strong. This one is all steel except the two bronze bushings in each end and its greasable.

Cool, thanks. I looked on (i think) Hot Racings site and couldnt find them. I've considered building my own for a while, but I plan on being really tough on it, and i dont have all the tools needed to make things like that :(

I'm not one to waste money are "hop up parts" instead I'll spend on the tools to make the stuff, the biggest expense is usually the saf-t silv 56, then the rest are only a few dollar items. As far as home built things being tough, I don't think there are to many servo's that will break the 1/4" round stock that the arms are brazed to and with no splines involved I'll never worry about them failing and I can say I made it to boot.

Now that is awesome. Exactly what I had in mind when I started planning this. Also can you guys give some specs on the size of those? whats shaft size and about how long are the steering arms? My concern with just using bushings is the sloppiness, I hate when all my RCs get sloppy steering so I always try to have bearing supported parts. I guess 1 question would be how do you attach/detach one arm on the brazed one? I am brazing a chassis together, but I am really lacking in shop tools, i.e. drill press, vise, any sort of saw.
