Interior installation
 

Hoping someone could help me with the mounting of the interior in my truck. I have the floorboard template already cut out of cardboard and where I'd want it, but keep drawing a blank on how to securely mount it to the frame. I'll have some pics up in a couple minutes to show what I mean.

You could make a T shaped bracket out of sheet metal and use the existing holes for the rock sliders and the screws next to them as mounting points. Turn the T upside down and bend the leg over 90 degrees to mount the floor board to it. Nice truck btw should be sweet when it's done.

Make two sides from styrene and velcro or servo tape to the frame.

or you could take some thicker styrene, heat it up to make a perfect bend, so it makes an l then bolt one side of the l to the frame sliders " where they mount to the frame rails" and then either epoxy the other side to the floor tray, or bolt it to the floor tray. did that make sense? lol

I think I might try the sheetmetal idea as I can "borrow" some from where my dad works lol, the only styrene I have is .030 and that's for the rest of the interior.

Why couldnt you just build the interrior and attach it to the body? You know like building 1:24 scale plastic models. You build the interrior in like a pod then attach it to the body. Then the last thing you do is mount the body with interrior down on the chassis. Also then when it comes time to work on the thing it's one less thing in the way, pull the body off with interrior and then your chassis and electronics are exposed and easy to get to.

That was my first thought and probably the most practical solution but when you look at the pics the floor board is cut out around the spur gear. If it was attached to the body and the truck rolled on it's side it would push the interior into the spur gear.

what about body mounts off the floor board and SCX body mount pieces mounted to the frame. I did this on my Blue Bowtie build and just use body
clips to hold it.

Yeah that's pretty slick. A lot easier to make too. Hope he sees it before he starts.

Yea, that seems a lot easier. I haven't started on it yet as I've been busy. I have extra body mounts I can use, but for the post I can just use some sprue pieces from a model kit I have and just Tenax it to the bottom of the floorboard or bolt it in.
