| Where is your antenna
I recently got my first scale rig and it is a SCX10. It has that big ass whip antenna out of the cowl. I purchased a New Bright Jeep JK for it and would love to not have to have that redicilous antenna sticking out of the hood. I look at all these awesome rigs and none of them have the antenna out of the hood, so where do you have it? Thanks |

Unless you like to drive far away just wrap it around your chassis. Or get a spectrum and stuff it in the case. |

You mean like a scale looking antenna or the RC antenna? For scale Reign RC makes one. http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/reirant1.htm If your talking about RC antenna. Most wrap the antenna around a piece of lexan and mount it in the body if they are using an AM/FM Antenna. If you go that route, zig zag the antenna until there is no antenna left. Over and under. _______________ O O O O O O \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / O O O O O O _______________ <- Like this Most of your crawlers have 2.4 now adays and you can get the systems pretty affordable. |

Yes I was refering to the RC antenna, not a CB antenna. Ok, so just wrap it up around the chassis area somewhere? Thanks |

Those pics are the way to go. What you do NOT want to do is make a coil with some of the extra to make it seem shorter. Like you would do with and electrical extension cord to store it. That can really cause glitching and reduced range. The main reason you do not see many antennas is due to the short size of 2.4 radio antennas. Many of them have antenna wires that are only an inch or two long. One creative thing you could do if you have an am or fm is to run it to the body or bumper and make it look like a cb antenna.

you could always get this http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXWPW0&P=ML , its priced decent but the best part is that the RX has no antenna at all.

I'm behind the times... I didn't even know they had receivers without antennas.... that would make hiding it in my tuber MUCH easier |

Dont waste your money buying a 2 channel 2.4 radio of any brand. There are plenty of other options that are affordable. RC4WD's radio. (Ugly but good. 4 Channels of goodness built for crawling. You can run a winch, steering, throttle and rear steer or Dig or lights on switch) http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/rc4z-r0006.htm Traxxas 4 channel radio. (decent, but not great. But much better than 2 channel or FM/AM) http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/tra2208.htm KO Propo. ( I have never owned one but for the price you get 2 recievers, 7 model memory, 3 channels, and more) http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/kop80095.htm Spektrum thats affordable. (A 3 channel 2.4ghz radio with reciever. The only problem is its a one model memory radio. But you cant beat the price for speky technology) http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/spm3160.htm |

I used to run 2.4 in my scaler, but I got an XR10 that would better benifit from a better radio (that and I could never loan it to someone since i'd be using the radio for it) so I slammed in some crap radio gear. my antenna mast is zip tied to the front shock tower and just lays down under the body. 2.4 is the way to go if possible though |

I just bunched mine up in the RX box...though mine is a tiny RX with 2 antennaes..(both about 5") reason there's 2 is because it's for an airplane...(that way when it's flying it never loses reception there's almost always 1 antenna vertical) it cramps up the RX Box though...I got servo, lights, ESC and BEC wires in it..Lol though i've never noticed anything....even if it's a run away...i can still grab it. oh yea. I run a DX6 Spektrum...great radio got it cheap too. like $65 with a 6 channel RX |

In my receiver box, it's a Spektrum 2.4Ghz system, the wire is like an inch and a half long.
