| My first attempt a bobbing a Hilux bed
I was really bored today, so I decided to try and bob a spare Hilux bed I had. I used painters tape to mark the cutting line and then proceeded with the good old fashion hack saw. It didn't come out to bad for my first try. Need to bond the joints and fill in some gaps. I'm never going to get better at it if I don't do it. |

Thanks It's going to be based on a RC4WD Trail finder chassis. This will also be my first project that I will braze my own bumbers and rock sliders on. It will be a nice winter project on those snow days.

I took a mock up pic. I ordered some styrene sheets and some Tenax 7 to fill in some of the gaps and bond the plastic together. |

Nice job. For glue I prefer Plactruct Bondene over Tenax 7, it seems to make a stronger bond.

You are off to a great start! Think about tackling a drop bed at the same time, it easier while you have the bed cut up.

instead of a hacksaw I suggest using synthetic thread.....yes...thread ordinary sewing thread....it takes practice using it but once you et it down it'll cut like a hot knife through butter. thread will also allow you to cut finer lines and more intricate cutouts. |
