Default Mike's mini park season opener trail run

Eddievedder hit me up tuesday night and asked if I was going to be around Wednesday to do some RC wheeling. It just to happen that I was starting my 3 day swing yesterday and was definitely looking forward to running some scalers to get me back into the swing of RCs as lately the 1:1s and work have been consuming all my time. It ended up being a perfect day, 50* and sunny and after an hour of going to town with the back pack leaf blower the park was ready for wheeling...

Bob showed up around noon with his dually tow rig and sammy better known as the animal

After unloading the sammy we got them up on the trailer for the mandatory trailer ramp flex shot

I quickly learned why Bob nick named this rig "the animal" the little sammy on the 3" 1.55 RC4WD tires went EVERY WHERE Bob pointed it

and did so tucking the tires like a champ!

I followed up in my Sammy which was working great even with the added weight of the newly finished interior, however my rear leafs having seen better days and were getting pretty twisted on the steeper climbs (paging doctor Chino63!!)

We wheeled the Sammys until the holmesHobbies mini torque masters sucked every last bit of juice from the stock packs

There was some close calls

and some out right fails

After the sammys were done, we were trying to figure out how you could have 5000$ + worth of 4 scale rigs within a 3ft radius and not have it be the MSD scale nats...the answer was simple...only if you just happen to have 3 SOR XJs and a completely badass 4 door crew cab ford with MFU, alum dually wheels, and a custom built trailer with saftey chains and all

We got Bob's XJ out for the 1st shake down run, it was quite nerve racking wheeling a 2500$ truck but Bob didnt shell out that cash to let this bad boy collect dust...at the end of the day the rig was down one mirror and had some "custom" pin stripping as well nothing terrible but I give bob a lot of credit

Videos uploading now!

Enjoy

-Mike

Thanks for posting up Mike!! I cant wait for the videos. We had some cool moments caught on camera. The dually at the end whipping your XJ around was mint, less the memory being full!!!

This was probably the best picture of the day. Should be in a magazine!

This was part of that sequence too, as Mike got out of a tough jam by riding on one tire for about 1 second. It was all skill LOL. Looked like a unicycle.

A few more XJ shots. I was pretty nervous wheeling this bad boy!

SOR brothers

Nice to see those SOR Cherokee's getting used, they don't serve any purpose just sitting on a shelf. I really like the green one, looks like my buddy's 1:1, except his is chopped and is basically a swb Comanche lol.

Great vids, those XJ's look incredible! I haven't seen one in person yet. The little red Sammy looks like a blast to drive.
