| Leaf Spring
I have very little money, so i have been building everything as opposed to buying it. I can weld aluminum and have the facilities to do so, so i made my frame of aluminum. I have built these springs out of a few links of chain on each end of a section of spring steal from an old thermometer. This seams to support the weight and let the axle travel just enough. Suggestions, ideas? please post replies. |

| Jeep
I thought it was a bronco II but when i compared it to a 1:1 my friend had, it was very simular. There is a raise in the bodyline toward the rear that is not in the original among other things. And, after looking the whole thing over, it says jeep in several places. Thanks for the feedback!

Mounted the axles to the suspension and the suspension to the frame. Got front wheel drive, as it looked to be most difficult but turned out really easy, rear will be hardest. got the windshield up, made from scraps of lexan and finally, mounted new tire/wheels. All electronics under the hood. looking at going the way of the scout, rather than the jeep. Questions? Suggestions? Thoughts? Please post a reply. |

Hi there, How about some pics from the final result... I wondered, did you get to fix the tranny underneath the chairs without cutting them? And did you put all of your electronics in the front or in the back? In the back you must have made some cuttings there also? Would like some pics of that too Are these 2.2 wheels or 1.9? |

I fabricated a small plate or firewall just behind the dash. Then, when opening the hood you were able to access the batt, esc, transfer case and steering servo. The driceshaft would not have fit between the plastic seats and the metal floor pans, so I drilled a hole through the center and fabbed up a center consul. The really bummer part of all this is that I sold the rig a few weeks ago, not having taken pictures of all the new work. The tires are standard axial hammer 2.2s with pretty sturdy foams to "pump" them up. Thanks for the reply, sorry for lack of pics.
